If our tonsils have abnormal acute inflammation, acute tonsillitis will occur. The symptoms of acute tonsillitis generally include pharyngeal mucosa. Acute tonsillitis can also cause acute inflammation of the pharyngeal lymphoid tissue. Acute tonsillitis rarely occurs in adults and usually occurs in children. Some teenagers may also experience symptoms of acute tonsillitis.
After suffering from acute tonsillitis, parents will be very worried about their children's health, because acute tonsillitis develops very quickly. After the onset of the disease, children are more afraid of cold and have fever, which can be as high as 39 to 40 degrees. High fever can even cause convulsions in young children. Some young children may also experience other symptoms such as vomiting due to acute tonsillitis. Detailed treatment of acute tonsillitis: prevention There are many causes of acute tonsillitis, so preventive measures should be taken from multiple aspects to be effective. Prevention methods are basically the same as those for acute rhinitis. Patients with recurrent episodes should undergo tonsillectomy after the acute phase to avoid recurrence. Treatment of acute tonsillitis: 1. General treatment This disease is contagious, so patients should be isolated appropriately. Rest in bed, eat liquid food and drink plenty of water, improve nutrition and clear bowel movements. When the sore throat is severe or the fever is high, you can take oral antipyretic analgesics. II. Systemic treatment 1. Systemic anti-infection treatment (1) Penicillin is the first choice, usually 800,000 units, twice a day, injected intramuscularly. In severe cases, large doses of penicillin can be given intravenously for 5 to 10 consecutive days. A penicillin skin test is required before injection, and it can only be used if the result is negative. (2) Cefuroxime axetil 0.25-0.5 g, orally, twice a day. (3) Those who are allergic to the above drugs can use erythromycin and other new broad-spectrum and highly effective antibiotics. Such as roxithromycin 0.15g, twice a day, orally; clarithromycin 0.25g, twice a day, orally. 2. Symptomatic treatment If necessary, give antipyretic and analgesic drugs, such as aspirin and salicylic acid preparations; laxatives can be used for constipation. 3. Local treatment (1) Gargle: Gargle with compound borax solution or 1:5,000 furazolidone solution, which has a cleaning and disinfecting effect. You can also rinse your mouth with salt water. (2) Application of medicine: For acute congestive tonsillitis, 10% silver nitrate or 20% weak protein silver can be applied to the isthmus of the pharynx. (3) Oral administration: Domiphene throat lozenges, iodine throat lozenges, Liushen pills, and Houzheng pills. (4) Blowing medicine: Spray Bingpengsan, Xileisan, etc. on the throat. Those with a lot of phlegm can blow golden key or jade key. Commercially available watermelon frost spray and double-ingredient throat powder spray can also be used. (5) External application: For patients with swollen and tender lymph nodes at the mandibular angle, Ruyi Jinhuang Powder can be applied externally. (6) Blockade therapy: Dissolve 100,000 units of penicillin in 2-4 ml of 1% lidocaine and inject it around the tonsils on each side. It has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. 4. Surgical Resection For patients with chronic tonsillitis or complications caused by repeated attacks, tonsillectomy should be performed at an appropriate time. 5. Acupuncture treatment (1) Body acupuncture: Use Hegu, Neiting, Quchi, and Tiantu, Shaoze, and Yuji, 2 to 4 points each time, using the draining method, 1 to 2 times a day. (2) Ear acupuncture: Tonsils, throat, lungs, stomach, and adrenal glands, stimulate strongly, retain the needles for 10 to 20 minutes, once a day. Or you can insert needles into the tonsil points and press them several times a day to strengthen the stimulation. (3) Acupuncture and bloodletting: You can use Shaoshang point to puncture and bleed, combined with Futu and Yuji. Or acupuncture Hege, Neiguan and tonsil points. (4) Eight-point injection: Take 5 fen of the inner side of Pishu, Quchi and Jianjing points, and inject 2 ml of Bupleurum injection or 50,000 to 100,000 U of penicillin into each point (skin test first). 6. Traditional Chinese Medicine Traditional Chinese medicine has a definite effect on this disease. In the initial stage, it is mostly caused by wind-heat in the lung meridian. The treatment should be to dispel wind and heat, relieve sore throat and reduce swelling. Prescriptions such as Shufeng Qingre Decoction are recommended. If the throat is severely red, swollen and painful, and there is fever, thirst and constipation, it is mostly due to excessive heat in the lungs and stomach. The treatment should be to clear away heat and detoxify, relieve sore throat and reduce swelling. Prescriptions such as Qingyan Lifei Decoction can be used. If there is pseudomembrane on the surface of tonsils, add puffball and Sophora flavescens to detoxify and remove rot. For acute congestive tonsillitis, Puji Xiaodu Yin is often used with modifications for treatment. In the above, we learned about the symptoms of acute tonsillitis. Once acute tonsillitis occurs, the disease comes on very quickly and is very harmful to the health of children and young children. Therefore, we must know how to prevent diseases such as acute tonsillitis. The above also introduced six treatments for acute tonsillitis, including general therapy, systemic therapy, local therapy and surgical removal of tonsils. Finally, acupuncture and Chinese medicine therapy can be used. |
