How to treat acute pulpitis

Acute pulpitis is generally caused by accidental trauma to the teeth and dental surgery on our teeth. The characteristic of acute pulpitis is that it comes on quickly and the pain is very intense. 2. Pulpotomy is divided into vital pulpotomy and post-devital pulpotomy. The former is a treatment method in which the coronal pulp is removed locally to retain the living pulp at the root, also known as coronal pulpotomy. The latter refers to the treatment method of using drugs to revitalize the dental pulp first, removing the coronal pulp, and covering the root pulp section with polyformaldehyde pulp drying agent to dry the root pulp, harden it, and fix it to become a sterile infected tissue. It is also called dry pulp surgery.

Indications: deep caries, partial coronal pulpitis. Pulpotomy is also suitable for traumatic crown fracture of anterior teeth with exposed pulp.

Treatment steps: anesthesia; preparation of the cavity; cutting of the coronal pulp; pulp capping; filling.

3. Pulpectomy is a treatment method in which all the pulp is removed under local anesthesia or after the pulp is inactivated. The root canal is prepared after removal, and the root canal is filled with absorbable root canal filling materials to retain the affected tooth. It is suitable for teeth with pulpitis involving the root pulp that are not suitable for pulpotomy.

X-rays should be taken before surgery to understand the condition of the roots of deciduous teeth and permanent tooth germs.

The treatment steps are as follows: remove carious tissue under local anesthesia; prepare the cavity; remove the pulp; fill the root canal.

4. Adults with intact apical foramen of posterior teeth can undergo pulp plasticization treatment.
