How to treat chronic urethritis?

Chronic urethritis is a common disease in daily life, which is mostly caused by the invasion of pathogens and poses a huge threat to human health. 2. Treatment Methods

Recently, norfloxacin has been used in combination with sulfonamides, with satisfactory clinical results. Systemic treatment should include rest and adequate fluid intake. During the acute phase, sexual intercourse should be avoided as this will prolong the course of the disease. During the chronic stage, if there is stricture at the external urethral orifice or inside the urethra, urethral dilation or urethral opening splitting should be performed. For patients with chronic posterior urethritis who have long-term recurring attacks and are not effectively responded to systemic medications, local urethral medications may be considered.

In chronic urethritis, urethral secretions gradually decrease, or only a small amount of serous secretions can be seen at the urethral opening during the first urination in the early morning. The urination irritation symptoms are no longer as obvious as in the acute phase, and some patients may be asymptomatic. Urethritis can spread directly to the bladder or prostate and cause cystitis or prostatitis. If acute urethritis is not treated properly, it may be complicated by paraurethral abscess, which may penetrate the skin of the penis and become a urethral fistula. During the healing process of urethral inflammation, fibrosis can cause urethral stenosis.

3. Several Chinese medicines for treating urethritis

1. Use 50 grams of wolfberry, 100 grams of Poria cocos, and 100 grams of black tea. Grind wolfberry and poria into coarse powder, take 5-10 grams each time, add 6 grams of black tea, and brew with boiling water for 10 minutes. Take twice a day as tea.

2. Take 50 grams of red beans and 50 grams of corn silk. Cook the soup and drink it once a day for 20 days.

3. Use 10 grams of light bamboo leaves, 50 grams of fresh reed roots, and 10 grams of wild chrysanthemum. Take it in decoction, 20 days as one course of treatment.

4. Take 30 grams of Tongcao and 30 grams of Houttuynia cordata. Drink as tea, any number of times.

5. Use 10 grams of Coptis chinensis, 30 grams each of Oldenlandia diffusa and Portulaca oleracea, 15 grams each of Smilax glabra, Sophora flavescens, Dictamni, Dianthus superbus, Dianthus radix, Acorus calamus, and Cyathula capitata, and 6 grams each of Akebia and Licorice. Take 1 dose daily, decocted in water and taken in 2 doses.

6. Take 10 grams each of Amaranth seeds or roots and raw licorice. Decoction in water.

7. Use 30-50 grams of kapok flowers and an appropriate amount of white sugar. Use two and a half bowls of water to boil until one bowl remains before drinking.

8. Use 30 grams each of Chinese yam and Sophora flavescens, 20 grams each of Phellodendron chinense and Kochia scoparia. Take one dose daily, decoct in water and use for external washing.
