What is the appropriate temperature for air conditioning in summer

With the continuous advancement of science and technology and the continuous improvement of people's living standards, air conditioners have entered thousands of households and become a common household appliance. Air conditioners can provide both cooling and heating, making your home or office feel like spring all year round. However, in summer, you must be scientific when turning on the air conditioner. So what is the appropriate temperature for the air conditioner in summer? Many people would say, what is the limit? You can turn it on as high as you want. Setting the air conditioner temperature is actually a more scientific approach.

Many people turn on the air conditioner as soon as they enter the house, and they set the temperature very low. This is actually bad for the body and makes it easy to suffer from a popular disease nowadays, that is, air-conditioning disease. Be sure to understand what temperature the air conditioner should be set to in the summer and adjust the temperature correctly so as not to harm your body.

First, the temperature setting should be beneficial to health

When turning on the air conditioner in summer, the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor should not be too large, generally 5℃ ~ 10℃ is appropriate. If the temperature difference is too large, people will experience sudden changes in temperature when entering and exiting, making them prone to catching colds and other diseases.

In summer, when the indoor temperature is controlled too low, such as below 20℃, people living and working in a low room temperature for a long time will cause a variety of discomforts. Some people will experience lower limb pain, general fatigue and chills, headache, sore throat, abdominal pain, back pain, and neuralgia in the limbs.

Second, the human body comfortable temperature is the best

When the environmental conditions are 25°C, 50% relative humidity and 0.15 m/s air flow rate, the human body is in the most normal and ideal thermal balance state, that is, it feels most comfortable and responds best.

In fact, the effective temperature felt by the human body is slightly lower than the temperature of the indoor air, generally about 1~2℃ lower. That is, although the air supply temperature of the air conditioner is slightly higher, the temperature actually felt by the human body is not that high. Therefore, the control temperature of the air conditioner should be adjusted to around 27℃, at which time the human body will feel more comfortable.

Third, raising the temperature by 2°C can significantly save electricity

Generally speaking, if the air conditioner is set to cool by 2°C, although the human body will not feel it very obviously, it can save nearly 10% of electricity on average for the air conditioner.

For example, if the temperature of the air conditioner is adjusted to 27℃ and compared with that adjusted to 20℃, the power consumption ratio will be 7:20, that is, adjusting the temperature of the air conditioner to 27℃ can save about 30% of electricity compared to 20℃.

The above introduces the appropriate temperature for air conditioning in summer. Of course, this is just a reference and should be set according to your actual situation. When working indoors with air conditioning on, don't just focus on enjoying the coolness, but pay attention to every part of your body. Avoid catching cold and getting pain. Even if the wind doesn’t feel very cold, try to put on a piece of clothing to avoid getting pain here and there. Correctly adjusting the temperature not only saves energy, but also protects the body.
