This will have a better effect.

The specific methods of dietary therapy for cough are as follows:

Cold cough:

1. Ginger, brown sugar, garlic

When you have a cold accompanied by a cough, you can cook 3-5 slices of ginger (1-2 slices for children), 7-10 cloves of garlic (2-3 cloves for children), and half a spoonful of brown sugar together over low heat for 10 minutes to cook off the spiciness of the garlic. This will have a better effect.

2. Steamed Garlic Water

Take 7 to 10 cloves of garlic, or 3 to 5 cloves for children, smash them, put them in a bowl, add half a bowl of water, put in a piece of rock sugar, cover the bowl, put it in a pot to steam, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer for 15 minutes over low heat. When the garlic water in the bowl is no longer hot, drink it when it is relatively warm. You don't have to eat the garlic. Drink it 2 to 3 times a day, half a bowl at a time. Garlic is warm in nature and enters the spleen, stomach, and lung meridian. It is very effective in treating cold coughs and kidney deficiency coughs, and it is convenient and simple.

3. Scrambled eggs with sesame oil and minced ginger

Put a small spoonful of sesame oil into the wok, add the minced ginger after the oil is hot, let it fry in the oil for a while, then pour in an egg and stir well. Eat it while it is hot before going to bed. Eat it once a night for a few days and you will see obvious results.

4. Pear, pepper, rock sugar

Wash a pear, cut it in half horizontally along the stem, dig out the core, add 20 peppercorns and 2 crystal sugars, align the upper part of the pear, put it in a bowl, and steam it for about half an hour. Adults can eat it all at once, and children can eat it in two times. Steamed pears with pepper and rock sugar are very effective in treating cold and cough.

Wind-heat cough:

1. Steam pears, rock sugar and Sichuan Fritillaria together

Wash a pear, cut it in half horizontally along the stem, dig out the core, add 2-3 crystal sugars, 10 crushed Fritillaria cirrhosa (5-6 for children), then align the upper part of the pear or put it tightly with toothpicks in a bowl. Steam it for about 30 minutes. Adults can eat it all at once and children can eat it in two portions. It has the effect of moistening the lungs, relieving cough and reducing phlegm.

2. Boil radish water

Wash the white radish, cut it into 8 to 10 slices (3 to 5 slices for children), put it into a small pot, add half a bowl of water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Drink it when the water is no longer hot, 1 to 2 times a day.

3. Roasted oranges

Roast the oranges directly over low heat, turning them constantly. They are done when they start to emit steam and the peel turns black. After they have cooled slightly, peel off the peel and eat the warm orange segments inside. Adults can eat one at a time, while children can eat 2 to 3 segments at a time.

4. Other foods for treating wind-heat cough

① Persimmon is cold in nature and can clear away heat, dispel phlegm and relieve cough. However, you can only eat 1 to 2 at a time. Eating too much will make your stomach uncomfortable. ② Watermelon is cold in nature and can cure all fever symptoms, but it is suitable for eating in summer. ③Loquat is cool in nature, can moisten the lungs, reduce phlegm, and relieve cough. It is suitable for people who spit out yellow pus phlegm. ④ Water chestnuts are cold in nature. Peel 4 to 6 water chestnuts for adults (2 to 3 for children), cut them into thin slices, put them in a pot, add a bowl of water, and boil them over high heat for 5 minutes. Drinking water chestnut water can eliminate phlegm, clear away heat, and is effective for those who spit out pus and phlegm.

Note: During a cough, do not eat spicy foods or foods that can easily cause internal heat, such as mutton, dog meat, black-bone chicken, silkworm pupae, fish, shrimp, dates, longan, lychee, walnut kernels, cherries, peppers, etc.

The specific methods for treating internal injury cough are as follows:

1. Cook yam porridge

Method: Take a piece of yam, peel it, cut it into small pieces, put it into a food grinder, add half a bowl of water, process the yam into a thin paste, pour it into a small pot, put it on the fire, stir while cooking to prevent the bottom of the pot from getting stuck. When the yam boils and bubbles, turn off the heat.

Efficacy: It is best to eat it on an empty stomach. Yam can strengthen the stomach, replenish lung qi, benefit kidney essence, nourish and strengthen the body. It is suitable for cough and asthma caused by spleen and stomach qi deficiency, and lung and kidney deficiency. However, the amylase contained in yam, also known as digestive enzyme, can break down into protein and carbohydrates, so it has a nourishing effect. This amylase is afraid of high heat. If it is fried for a long time in persistent high heat, its efficacy may be lost. Therefore, do not boil it for too long. The yam porridge processed by this method is most suitable for infants and young children. It can not only relieve cough and treat asthma, but also has a good therapeutic effect on children's anorexia, excessive sweating, drooling, qi deficiency and timidity.

2. Red dates, ginkgo

Method: Take 10 red dates for adults (cut), 3 for children, 10 ginkgo nuts for adults, 2-3 for children, peel them, put them in a small pot, add half a bowl of water, put on the fire, and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes.

How to eat: Let your child eat red dates, ginkgo nuts, and drink water once a day, preferably before going to bed every night.

Efficacy: Red dates are warm in nature, replenishing qi, strengthening the spleen and stomach. Ginkgo nuts are mild in nature, and can restrain lung qi, relieve cough and asthma, and have the effect of strengthening the kidneys. Therefore, for those who suffer from long-term coughs, recurrent colds, fever, cough, frequent urination, and enuresis, eating red dates and ginkgo soup every night is very effective. However, the amount of red dates and ginkgo nuts must be controlled well. Children should only be given 2 to 3 pieces. If the amount is too much, children are prone to getting inflamed and suffering from qi stagnation.
