What are the symptoms of gastroenteritis

Gastroenteritis is a common gastrointestinal disease that endangers the health of modern people. And we know that the occurrence of gastroenteritis is mostly related to daily eating habits, so we must pay attention to our daily eating process. Of course, if symptoms of gastroenteritis occur, we still need to go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying the disease and affecting our health.

The symptoms of gastroenteritis endanger the health of the stomach and intestines. Of course, patients with gastroenteritis still need to go to the hospital for a confirmed diagnosis, and then receive correct treatment based on the doctor's diagnosis and treatment recommendations to avoid affecting their health.

1. If you feel obstruction, pause, or pain behind the sternum when eating, and the pain varies in severity, you may have esophagitis, esophageal diverticulum, or early esophageal cancer. 2. Feeling bloated after meals or bloated all day, belching but no acid reflux, poor appetite, gradual weight loss, and slightly pale or gray complexion are symptoms of chronic gastritis in middle-aged and elderly people, especially chronic atrophic gastritis and gastroptosis. 3. Upper and middle abdominal pain after meals, or nausea, vomiting, or a feeling of indigestion. The disease may have a history of many years, often occurring in autumn. The pain may be rhythmic, such as being triggered by cold, anger, or eating irritating food. It may be a gastric ulcer. 4. Stomach pain often starts 2 hours after a meal, or wakes you up in pain in the middle of the night. Eating something can relieve the pain, and acid reflux often occurs. It is more likely to occur in autumn and winter. The pain is in the upper right side of the abdomen and is often rhythmic. It should be considered as duodenal ulcer or inflammation, or diverticulum. 5. Abdominal distension and pain after meals, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and occasionally vomiting of blood, a history of stomach disease that has recently worsened, or no history of stomach disease but has only recently developed, accompanied by anemia, weight loss, loss of appetite, and a hard lump felt above the navel or heart, then it is considered to be stomach cancer. 6. Sudden onset of severe upper abdominal pain, which may be caused by a history of unclean diet or cold, restlessness, pale face and cold sweats, cold limbs, a hard lump in the upper and middle abdomen but cannot be touched, and may be relieved on its own after 1-2 hours. It may be gastric spasm. If the abdomen is hard and cannot be touched, it may be due to acute perforation of ulcer. 7. When walking or running, you feel pain on one side of your abdomen and are forced to stop. The pain is often relieved after farting or rubbing the abdomen. There may be a lump in the area, which disappears when the pain stops. This may be colon spasm or hepatosplenic flexure syndrome. 8. Abdominal pain and diarrhea may occur after eating carelessly or catching a cold, accompanied by vomiting, chills and fever. It may be acute gastroenteritis or acute dysentery. 9. Diarrhea occurs immediately after a meal, after each meal, when slightly cold or when eating carelessly, sometimes diarrhea and sometimes constipation, the diarrhea is watery, and there is a lot of mucus when constipated. Sometimes the abdomen is bloated and there is a urge to defecate but no stool is produced when going to the toilet, and there is no weight loss in several years. Chronic allergic enteritis is likely. 10. Dull pain or bloating in the abdomen, mostly on the left side. You may have been constipated in the past, but recently you have frequent abdominal pain and your stool often contains mucus, pus and blood. Or your bowel movements were normal in the past, but now you have frequent diarrhea, are noticeably emaciated, and have a pale complexion. You should consider the possibility of rectal or colon cancer.

The symptoms of gastroenteritis are similar to those of many gastrointestinal diseases. Therefore, for patients, if they find any symptoms of discomfort, it is best to go to the hospital for further diagnosis to avoid diseases similar to gastroenteritis, which will affect the treatment of the disease and be detrimental to health.
