What to do if a blister appears on the gums

What to do if a blister appears on the gums

Blistering around the gums, also known as blistering of the gums, is a very uncomfortable thing and also a very common symptom. Of course, after this problem occurs, in order to ensure their oral health, patients can take certain methods to deal with it, so as to prevent this symptom from causing greater impact on the patient's oral health. So, what should you do if your gums are blistered?

1. Symptoms of gingival blistering

The pain is very obvious when gingival blistering occurs, and sometimes it will recur. When gingival blistering develops to the late stage and most or all of the pulp tissue is necrotic, or there is bacterial infection, the products of pulp tissue decomposition, mycobacteria will pass through the apical foramen and cause inflammation of the periapical tissue. In addition, when the teeth are hit by sudden external force, the periapical tissues are also severely traumatized and cause apical periodontitis. In addition, iatrogenic infection during the treatment process can also cause apical periodontitis.

2. The impact of gum blistering

1. If gingival blisters are not treated for a long time, it will cause acute apical periodontitis. In the early stage, the affected teeth will have mild pain. At this time, the pain can be temporarily relieved by clenching the affected teeth. As the inflammation worsens, the patient's teeth will stretch and there will be a floating feeling. Light tapping of the affected teeth will cause pain. In apical periodontitis, the pain is spontaneous, persistent, and localized, and the patient can clearly point out the affected tooth;

2. Gingival blistering can lead to chronic apical periodontitis, in which apical granulomas generally have no spontaneous pain, only discomfort in chewing, weak bite, strange sensation when percussed, and the affected tooth may feel elongated. At this time, the pulp is mostly necrotic, the tooth decomposes and changes color, and it may attack acutely when the body's resistance is low; then there are apical cysts, which are mostly asymptomatic, the teeth change color, and the apical cysts can be shown on dental films. If the cysts increase in size, they force the surrounding bone to be absorbed, and the mucosa at the apex of the affected tooth often presents a semicircular bulge;

3. There are also chronic periapical abscesses and gingival blistering, which are usually asymptomatic. There may be fistulas in the apical mucosa of the affected teeth, and granulation tissue often proliferates at the fistula openings. Pus may be discharged from the fistulas. Due to the drainage of the fistulas, it is not easy to turn into acute inflammation.

3. How to deal with gum blisters?

To cure gum blistering, you need to strengthen your physical fitness and improve your immune system. In daily life, we should maintain oral hygiene, brush our teeth, gargle and take a bath regularly; pay attention to smooth bowel movements and adequate sleep; pay attention to nutritional balance, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables to clean the stomach and intestines; when gum blisters occur, crush the vitamin C tablets and sprinkle them on the gum blisters or directly place the whole tablet on the affected area, twice a day. Generally, it can be cured after 3-4 times; for mild cases, it can be cured after 1-2 times, but the pain is obvious when the medicine is used for the first time. Secondly, apply Yunnan Baiyao to the blistered area of the gums, twice a day, and it will generally be cured in 2-3 days. You can also supplement vitamin Bl, B2, B6, vitamin C and zinc to improve the body's self-healing ability. When gum blisters develop and secondary infections occur, antibiotics may be taken appropriately.
