Causes of teratoma

Causes of teratoma

Teratoma is a common germ cell tumor that originates from the primordial germ cells of the embryonic gland. Common causes of teratoma include dietary habits, genetic mutations, compression, abnormal embryonic development, and external factors.

1. Eating habits:

Irregular diet or abnormal long-term eating habits, and lack of attention to food hygiene may also lead to teratoma, so it is necessary to develop good daily living habits.

2. Genetic mutation:

Teratomas can also be caused by genetic mutations. These mutations can occur early or late in embryonic development. For example, certain gene mutations can cause certain cells to develop abnormally, eventually forming a teratoma.

3. Abnormal embryonic development:

Teratoma is usually caused by abnormal embryonic development because it is a mature tumor that includes various mature tissue types, such as bone, muscle, skin, etc. These tissues should be differentiated into different cell types under normal circumstances, but in teratoma, they do not differentiate but are mixed in one tissue.

4. Oppression:

If a benign ovarian cyst is large, it will cause the entire abdominal cavity to fill up. At this time, the intra-abdominal pressure will gradually increase, and it will also affect the venous return of the lower limbs. At this time, obvious lower limb edema or abdominal wall edema will appear, forming a teratoma.

5. External factors:

External factors may also be a cause of teratoma formation. For example, certain chemicals or radiation exposure may cause damage to the cell's DNA, which can promote the formation of teratomas.

Teratomas have the risk of malignant changes. Immature teratomas are themselves malignant tumors that seriously threaten women's lives and health. If patients accidentally find some lumps in their bodies, they need to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
