How to treat cervical lymph node metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma?

1. The enlarged lymph nodes are usually located below the mastoid tip at the posterior edge of the sternocleidomastoid muscle of the neck and the deep cervical venous lymph nodes behind the mandibular angle. The lesions then gradually spread downward, involving the deep cervical lymph nodes, the lower lymph nodes, and the supraclavicular lymph nodes. The neck mass grows rapidly and can be as big as a fist in an adult without pain. If the tumor infiltrates the soft tissue of the neck or is severely swollen, neck pain may occur. During the examination, the neck mass is hard, the surface nodules are small, and it is not easy to push the attached surroundings. It can fuse with each other to become a huge mass for the entire neck.

2. The treatment principle of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cervical lymph node metastasis is consistent with the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Radiotherapy is the main treatment, and chemotherapy and surgery are supplementary. The emerging tumor multi-cell immunotherapy technology is also very effective in the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Combined with radiotherapy, chemotherapy or surgery, it can greatly control the progression of cancer and inhibit its further development.

3. Cervical lymph node metastasis originates from the nasopharynx: mainly distributed in the cervical venous lymph nodes, manifested as enlarged lymph nodes around the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Squamous cell metastasis is generally very hard; but a few tissues are necrotic, liquefied, and increase in single or multiple progressive forms. They often adhere to the surrounding soft tissues and eventually become fixed. They are generally painless and are often accompanied by symptoms and signs of primary cancer. The symptoms of primary cervical lymph node metastasis are different, and the treatment methods are also different.
