The most effective test for liver cancer screening

The most effective test for liver cancer screening

The most effective tests for liver cancer screening are:

More effective tests for liver cancer screening include blood tests, imaging tests, pathological tests, etc.

1. Blood test

Blood tests are clinically useful for patients suspected of primary infection. If a chronic hepatitis B virus patient is over 40 years old, it is recommended to regularly check liver function and alpha-fetoprotein. Alpha-fetoprotein is usually less than 200ug/L. If the patient's alpha-fetoprotein exceeds 400ug/L or continues to rise, it may be primary liver cancer.

2. Imaging examination

When performing liver enhanced CT examination, if the liver density is low, the lesion edge is blurred, the enhanced CT is fast in and out, and the density is high, it can be considered as primary liver cancer.

Ultrasound examination is a relatively simple method for liver cancer screening. If the patient has liver cancer, ultrasound will show low-echo or high-echo space-occupying lesions, and halos will appear around the lesions.

3. Pathological examination

Liver puncture biopsy can clarify the pathology and is a more reliable method for diagnosing liver cancer. The results can be divided into large liver cancer and small liver cancer. It is a traumatic examination and may have the risk of needle tract metastasis or bleeding. Usually, large liver cancer can be treated with interventional therapy, radiofrequency ablation, etc., while small liver cancer is recommended for laparoscopic surgery.

In addition to the above-mentioned examination methods, physical examinations can also be used to screen for liver cancer, which can detect abnormalities in a timely manner and facilitate later treatment.
