1. Simply removing the ovarian cyst and preserving the ovary is of great benefit to women's future endocrine problems and physical health problems. Ovarian cysts are generally treated with laparoscopic surgery, but if there is a clear problem of pelvic and abdominal adhesions, some people directly choose to do laparotomy.

2. For ovarian cysts, the ovarian tissue and function should be preserved as much as possible, unless it is some special types of ovarian cysts, in which case the ovaries should be removed if necessary.

Is borderline ovarian tumor cancer?

For older patients, it is recommended not only to remove the diseased borderline tumor, but if the patient has completed childbearing, it is recommended that she undergo comprehensive staged surgery to remove the opposite side and the uterus for more standardized treatment. If the patient is a young woman, the entire uterus and bilateral adnexa are generally not removed. The diseased side is often removed, and the normal ovary and uterus on the other side are often retained.

Borderline tumors are determined through surgery. Only laboratory tests can confirm that they are borderline. If surgery has already been done, we need to decide the next step based on the surgical method. Borderline ovarian tumors are between benign and malignant. They are not cancer, but they have the potential to become malignant, which means they may develop into cancer, but they are not cancer at present.
