Radiotherapy for lung cancer has not been reduced, but has increased. What's wrong?

Radiotherapy for lung cancer is not a small matter, but additional considerations are caused by factors such as decreased body resistance, drug resistance, and tumor edema. Targeted treatment can be carried out after the cause is identified.

1. Decreased body resistance:

After lung cancer occurs, the body's resistance will decrease. During the treatment process, high fever and infection will occur, causing the lung cancer to grow larger. Usually, patients should maintain adequate nutrition every day and eat more foods rich in vitamins and proteins, such as apples, eggs, fish, etc., which can effectively provide the body with the necessary nutrients.

2. Drug resistance:

If targeted drugs are frequently used during radiotherapy, long-term use will cause the patient to develop drug resistance, leading to abnormal enlargement of tumor cells. In this case, the doctor should be advised to re-select drug treatment, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride injection, vinorelbine tartrate injection, docetaxel injection, etc.

3. Tumor edema:

It may be that tumor cells are necrotic, causing edema of surrounding normal tissues, and pseudotumors are enlarged during chemotherapy. Patients can take oral diuretics such as furosemide tablets and hydrochlorothiazide tablets under the guidance of doctors.

In addition to the common causes mentioned above, it may also be due to the high degree of tumor malignancy. If there are other discomforts, the patient should seek medical attention in time.
