My waist is always sore

My waist is always sore

In daily life, many people suffer from back pain. There are many reasons for back pain, such as lumbar disc herniation, ligament injury, or eating some foods or taking medicines that relieve back pain, which can relieve the patient's pain. However, no matter what causes the back pain, you must pay more attention to rest, maintain a good attitude, and actively seek treatment to avoid worsening of the condition.

Why does my waist always ache?

Low back pain is a symptom, not an independent disease. The common causes of low back pain can be summarized into four categories:

1. Caused by diseases of the spinal bones and joints and surrounding soft tissues

Such as local injuries, bleeding, edema and muscle spasms caused by contusion and sprain.

2. Caused by spinal cord and spinal nerve diseases

Such as spinal cord tumors, myelitis, etc.

3. Caused by diseases of internal organs

Such as infection and tumor of the uterus and its appendages

4. Caused by mental factors

For example, a hysterical patient may present low back pain as the main complaint, but may have no objective physical signs.

Who is more likely to have back pain?

Low back pain is closely related to occupational factors.

Drivers, white-collar workers, soldiers, construction workers, farmers... these occupational groups who need to sit, stand or bend over for long periods of time generally have a higher incidence of low back pain.

Smoking and low back pain are closely related.

Many smokers are prone to back pain. The reason is still unclear. It may be that smoking causes chronic bronchitis, and coughing causes increased intra-disc pressure and intra-spinal canal pressure. In addition, nicotine in tobacco may reduce vertebral blood volume, thereby affecting the nutrition of the intervertebral disc and making the intervertebral disc prone to degeneration.

I have back pain, what should I do?

1. Move, not stay still

It is not advisable to rest in bed when you have low back pain. Maintaining daily activities within the tolerable pain range is more conducive to relief and recovery.

2. Relaxation to deal with acute low back pain

When you have acute low back pain, you should find a place to lie down and try to relax your lower back muscles. Then use your elbows to support your shoulders, keep your abdomen close to the ground, and fully lean your lumbar spine backward. This action generally provides good relief.
