What are the typical differences between gastric cancer and gastritis in terms of symptoms

Gastritis refers to inflammation of the gastric mucosa caused by any reason. Generally, stomach medicine is very effective, but the opposite is true for gastric cancer. Gastritis is only an inflammatory lesion, but it should also be noted that some types of gastritis can be transformed into gastric cancer. Gastric cancer is a malignant tumor. Clinical gastric cancer surgery and autopsy show that most gastric specimens have inflammation, and patients often have no gastric acid response before gastric cancer occurs. Therefore, pathologists believe that gastric cancer is closely related to gastritis.

1. Nausea and vomiting:

Pyloric obstruction in advanced gastric cancer can easily lead to vomiting; cardiac cancer and high lesser curvature cancer can cause a choking feeling when eating.

2. Upper gastrointestinal symptoms:

Patients often experience upper abdominal discomfort, heart pain, and a feeling of fullness after eating. As the tumor develops, the upper abdominal pain gradually worsens, leading to loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, and even gastrointestinal bleeding due to the infiltration of the cancer into the blood vessels around the stomach. At this point, although it is easy to diagnose, it is already in the late stage and difficult to cure.

3. Vomiting blood and blood in stool:

Because the cancer invades the blood vessels of the gastric wall, if the bleeding time is long or the bleeding amount is large, the patient may experience symptoms of iron deficiency anemia.

People who have the above symptoms must undergo X-ray barium meal, B-ultrasound, gastroscopy, etc. for a clear diagnosis, because benign gastric ulcers, gastric sarcoma, benign gastric tumors and chronic gastritis can also cause similar symptoms.
