Genital mucus

Genital mucus

Genitals refer to the male penis. Whether the genitals are healthy not only affects men's sexual ability and fertility, but also affects the health of their urinary system. Therefore, in daily life, male friends must do a good job of protecting their genitals. However, many men often have the problem of genital mucus discharge, which may be caused by related diseases such as prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis or epididymitis.

1. Prostatitis

Prostatitis refers to a prostate disease caused by a variety of complex reasons, with urethral irritation symptoms and chronic pelvic pain as the main clinical manifestations. Prostatitis is a common disease in urology, and ranks first among male patients under 50 years old in urology. Despite the high incidence of prostatitis, its cause is still not very clear, especially for non-bacterial prostatitis, so its treatment focuses on improving symptoms. Nonbacterial prostatitis is much more common than bacterial prostatitis.

2. Seminal vesiculitis

Seminal vesiculitis often occurs at the same time as prostatitis, mostly due to retrograde infection. The pathogenic bacteria are mostly Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic Streptococcus and Escherichia coli, which are divided into acute and chronic seminal vesiculitis.

Seminal vesiculitis is one of the common infectious diseases in men. The age of onset is mostly between 20 and 40 years old. Hematospermia is the main clinical manifestation, but it can be divided into acute and chronic types. There are great individual differences and the clinical manifestations are not the same.

3. Epididymitis

Epididymitis is a common disease in young and middle-aged people. When the body's resistance is low, pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus will enter the vas deferens, retrogradely invade the epididymis, and cause inflammation. Therefore, this disease often leads to secondary urethritis, prostatitis and seminal vesiculitis. Generally, patients with epididymitis will have nodules, which mostly occur at the head or tail of the epididymis, with the tail being the most common.

Acute epididymitis is mostly caused by urinary tract infection spreading along the vas deferens to the epididymis. Transurethral instrumentation, frequent catheterization, and indwelling urinary catheter after prostatectomy are all factors that cause epididymitis. If acute epididymitis is not treated thoroughly, it may turn into chronic epididymitis. The most common pathogenic bacteria are Escherichia coli, followed by Proteus, Staphylococcus, Enterococcus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Chlamydia trachomatis can also cause acute epididymitis. Pathogenic bacteria often enter the epididymis via the vas deferens in a retrograde manner. In addition, bacteria invading the epididymis can also cause epididymitis through lymphatic vessels or bloodstream infection, but this is rare.
