Boiled chestnuts and peeled

Boiled chestnuts and peeled

Chestnut is a common nut. It tastes soft, sweet and has high nutritional value. The most annoying thing about eating chestnuts is that the skin is not easy to peel. When boiled chestnuts, be sure to cut a small hole in the chestnut with a knife in advance so that the skin of the cooked chestnuts can be easily peeled off. In addition, there are many ways to peel chestnuts, such as using a microwave oven.

Boiled chestnuts peeled

1. If the chestnuts are already cooked and it is difficult to peel them, you can peel them like this. Use your mouth to bite off the wider end of the chestnut a little bit, then use your hands to peel it down little by little, peeling off the hard skin on the outside and then the thin skin on the inside.

2. You can also use a hook to bite the narrower end of the chestnut vertically. Remember to bite it "vertically" so that it is easier to peel.

3. After the chestnuts are cooked, if they are difficult to peel, you may boil them in hot water for a while, then cut a small cut in them and peel them from the cut. After high-temperature expansion, the kernel and skin are easily separated, just like a boiled egg is quickly placed in cold water to make it easier to peel.

4. After the chestnuts are cooked, you can rinse them with cold water to cool them down, or put them in the refrigerator and freeze them for two hours to quickly separate the shell and the meat. This way, the chestnut skin can be peeled quickly and the chestnut meat remains intact.

Is it easy to peel cooked chestnuts?

Generally speaking, after chestnuts are cooked, some are easier to peel while others are still difficult to peel. For example, if the chestnuts are cooked and then sealed and bagged while still hot, the chestnuts will be difficult to peel. This is why we find it difficult to peel the cooked chestnuts in shells when we buy them in the supermarket. Therefore, you have to wait until the chestnuts are completely cool before sealing them for storage. Of course, in addition to this reason, under normal circumstances, you will often encounter some vegetables that are difficult to peel, so you might as well cut a small hole before cooking.

How to peel raw chestnuts

1. Microwave heating method: Cut the shell of the raw chestnuts you bought with scissors, put them in the microwave and heat them at low temperature for 30 seconds, and the skin and meat will automatically fall off after a layer of heating. Before using this method to remove chestnut shells, be sure to cut open the shells, otherwise it may cause microwave oven malfunction.

2. Hot water soaking method: Wash the raw chestnuts and put them in a basin, add a little salt, cover them with boiling water, and cover the pot. After 5 seconds, put in the chestnut slices, and the chestnut skin will fall off along with the chestnut shell. This method saves time and effort in removing the chestnut skin.

3. Sun exposure method: Put the raw chestnuts you want to eat in the sun for a day, and the chestnut shells will crack.

4. Cook chestnuts in a low-pressure cooker: Wash the chestnuts with a clean cloth, then put them into the low-pressure cooker while they are still wet. Remember, do not add any more water. Just leave it as it is. Then turn on the heat and use a low heat (turn down the entire circle of heat). This will allow the bottom of the pot to heat evenly. Put the low-pressure cooker in and heat it for a while, about three seconds. Lift the pot up and shake it. This is also to allow the chestnuts to be heated evenly during the process. When the pressure cooker starts to steam, lift the pot and shake it frequently, because it is already very hot at that time. After about ten minutes, you can hear the sound of chestnuts exploding in the pot. Then continue to heat and shake it for about fifteen seconds, then you can turn off the heat, simmer for another five seconds, open the pot and let it cool for a while.
