CT scans are good for blood flow, and enhanced scanning can improve resolution and increase the chances of detecting disease. However, CT is based on the principle of radiation detection and needs to be carried out after careful consideration. There are many methods for lung examination, and they need to be carried out in a targeted manner.

What can CT scan reveal?

Neurological disorders

Craniocerebral trauma, cerebral infarction, brain tumor, inflammation, degenerative diseases, congenital malformations, etc. are the earliest applied human systems, especially in the diagnosis of traumatic craniocerebral emergencies. They are routine and preferred examination methods, which can clearly show cerebral contusion, acute intracerebral hematoma, epidural and subdural hematoma, craniofacial fractures, intracranial metal foreign bodies, etc., and are more sensitive than any other method.

CT is of great value in diagnosing acute cerebrovascular diseases such as hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral aneurysm and arteriovenous malformation rupture bleeding, cerebral infarction, etc. Acute hemorrhage can be considered as the first choice examination. For acute cerebral infarction, especially those within 6 hours of onset, CT is not as sensitive as MRI.

Cardiovascular system

It can be used for the diagnosis of pericardial tumors, pericardial effusion, etc. CT has definite diagnostic significance for acute aortic dissecting aneurysm, especially enhanced scanning has characteristic manifestations and can make a qualitative diagnosis.

Chest lesions

It has a very satisfactory effect in displaying lung lesions and has a high diagnostic value for lung trauma, infectious lesions, tumors, etc. The display of tumors, lymph nodes and pleural lesions in the mediastinum is also satisfactory, and the relationship between lung masses and the mediastinum can be shown.

Abdominal organs

It can clearly display solid organs such as the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, and adrenal glands. It can clearly show the exact anatomical location and degree of lesions for tumors, infections, and traumas. It is of great value for lesion staging, etc., and helps in the clinical formulation of treatment plans. It is especially important for surgical positioning in surgical departments, and has great value in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of intra-abdominal masses.

Pelvic organs

There are abundant fat intervals between the pelvic organs, which can accurately show the invasion of tumors into adjacent tissues. Therefore, CT has become an important means for the diagnosis, clinical staging and radiotherapy planning of ovarian, cervical and uterine, bladder, seminal vesicle, prostate and rectal tumors.
