What should I pay attention to before doing CT?

1. Before the examination, the patient should communicate with the doctor and tell the doctor the detailed medical history and various examination results. If the patient has kept previous X-ray examination information, it should be given to the doctor for reference.

2. Before the examination, you should tell the doctor whether you have a history of drug allergies, and whether you have suffered from allergic diseases such as urticaria and asthma. This will allow the doctor to pay more attention to avoid contrast agent allergies and other phenomena.

3. Before the inspection, all metal items that may affect the results should be removed, such as hairpins, earrings, necklaces, headwear, etc. Metal items such as belts and keys will affect the inspection results.

4. You should fast for four hours before doing a CT scan. If the patient is undergoing a Hattori scan, barium contrast imaging cannot be performed within one week before the examination, and other abdominal organ contrast imaging examinations cannot be performed within the first three days. You cannot take laxatives within two days before the examination, and should also eat less vegetables, fruits, and soy products and other foods that are easy to produce gas.

5. During the examination, you should follow the doctor's instructions, keep your body still, fully cooperate with the examination, breathe calmly and hold your breath, etc.

6. Before doing a CT scan, some contrast agents will be used, so a test for allergy to intravenous contrast agent iodine should be done. Only if no adverse reactions occur 20 minutes after the test, can the CT scan be performed.

7. During the examination, if you feel unwell or have any abnormal physical phenomenon, you should tell the doctor immediately to avoid accidents.

Pelvic CT examination instructions

1. The night before the pelvic CT examination, R should eat liquid or semi-liquid food for dinner. You can eat noodles, bread, and porridge. You should also take senna leaves with boiled water. This can clean the intestines and is beneficial to the examination results.

2. On the day of the examination, the contrast agent should be diluted with warm water and shaken well before enema.

3. If you are a married woman, you should insert a tampon into your vagina. Pelvic CT examination cannot be performed during menstruation. If a barium meal examination has been done, a CT examination should be performed one week later.

4. You cannot eat any food or defecate within two hours before the examination. You should wait until the bladder is filled with urine before performing the CT examination.
