How to prevent bladder cancer

How to prevent bladder cancer

Bladder cancer has a high incidence in our daily lives. For this troublesome problem, the most important thing we can do is prevention. The following is a list of some knowledge on how to prevent bladder cancer, hoping it can help you.

Bladder cancer is more common in middle-aged and elderly people over 50 years old. The incidence rate increases with age. The occurrence of bladder cancer is closely related to three factors: diet, smoking and drinking water. Prevention of bladder cancer should also start from the source.

We should adhere to scientific eating habits and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, because fresh vegetables and fruits are rich in vitamins and trace elements, which can decompose the carcinogens in the body - nitrosamines. We should try to eat less meat, because meat can produce substances with structures similar to aniline and benzidine during metabolism in the body. A survey has found that workers in factories using aniline and benzidine chemical raw materials are more likely to suffer from bladder cancer. People who have the habit of smoking should quit smoking as soon as possible. Studies have shown that cigarettes contain nicotine, tar, tobacco-specific nitrosamines and other toxic carcinogens. People who smoke a lot have higher concentrations of carcinogens in their urine. If the daily smoking index reaches 600 (number of cigarettes smoked per day × number of years of smoking), it is at risk of bladder cancer.

Increase the amount of water you drink, because the amount of water you drink directly affects the concentration of urine in the bladder and has an important impact on the occurrence of bladder cancer. People who drink less water must have less urine in the bladder, and after carcinogens are excreted from the kidneys to the bladder, the concentration in the urine is also correspondingly higher. These high-concentration carcinogens will cause strong irritation to the bladder mucosa. At the same time, people who drink less water will inevitably have longer intervals between urinations, which creates favorable conditions for the reproduction of bacteria (such as E. coli) in the bladder. Most people who often suffer from bladder cancer are those who do not like to drink water or tea.

The increase in bacterial concentration in urine can not only cause cystitis, but also continuously produce adverse stimulation to the bladder mucosa. Over time, under the dual stimulation of bacteria and carcinogens, the bladder mucosa can gradually develop into cancer due to inflammation and erosion.

To prevent the occurrence of bladder cancer, you should drink plenty of water to dilute the urine and excrete it in time. In this way, the bacteria and carcinogens in the urine will be relatively reduced, which can reduce the irritation and damage to the bladder mucosa and play a role in preventing bladder cancer.

The above methods and precautions for preventing bladder cancer must be kept in mind, so that we can have sufficient means to avoid this troublesome disease. I hope everyone can be healthy and happy in life and work, and stay away from troubles.
