What are the symptoms of bone cancer?

Bone cancer is a serious malignant tumor of the skeletal system. Its precursor symptoms are usually hidden, but early detection and treatment are crucial to improving the cure rate. The precursor symptoms of bone cancer mainly include persistent bone pain, swelling or lumps, fractures, systemic symptoms, and other compression symptoms.

1. Persistent bone pain: One of the most common early symptoms of bone cancer is local bone pain, which is usually persistent and may worsen at night or when resting. The nature of the pain may be dull or aching, and the pain may gradually intensify as the disease progresses.

2. Swelling or lumps: Bone cancer patients may experience local swelling or lumps, which are caused by the invasion of surrounding tissues by tumor tissue. The lumps may be accompanied by pain, or they may feel hard or lumpy when touched.

3. Fractures: Bone cancer may cause bones to become fragile and easy to break, and patients may suffer fractures without trauma or with minor trauma. Such fractures may be accompanied by symptoms such as pain and swelling, and may lead to functional impairment in severe cases.

4. Systemic symptoms: As bone cancer progresses, patients may experience systemic symptoms such as weight loss, loss of appetite, fatigue, etc. These symptoms may be due to metabolic changes and inflammatory responses caused by the growth and spread of the tumor.

5. Other compression symptoms: When the tumor grows in a specific part, such as the cranial cavity and nasal cavity, it may compress the brain and nasal tissues, causing breathing difficulties and cranial compression. Pelvic tumors may compress the rectum and bladder, causing difficulty in defecation and urination.

Diagnosed patients need to follow the doctor's advice and receive treatment through surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. At the same time, they must maintain good living habits, strengthen exercise, and enhance immunity to improve the cure rate and prognosis of the disease.
