Skin tags are a common disease, which some people believe is a skin sign of intestinal polyps. The incidence of skin tags in patients with hypertriglyceridemia is significantly higher than that in those with normal triglycerides. Currently, there are two treatments for this disease: non-surgical and surgical, both of which are effective, but you must not cut it off yourself, otherwise infection will easily occur. 1. Causes of skin tag disease 1. Causes of disease: 1. The cause of the disease is still unknown. Some people abroad believe that it is a skin sign of intestinal polyps. Investigations and studies on a large number of cases found that the incidence of skin tags in patients with hypertriglyceridemia was significantly higher than that in those with normal triglycerides. It is thought that skin tags may be a cutaneous marker of hypertriglyceridemia. 2. Pathogenesis The pathogenesis is still unclear. The mass is composed of loose connective tissue, similar to that of the papillary layer. There are many capillaries in it. There are 3 types according to tissue pathology. 1. Filamentous type: Hyperkeratosis, acanthosis and papillomatous hyperplasia of the epidermis may be seen. There are numerous dilated lymphatic vessels. Nevus cells can be seen in some cases (30%). 2. Pedunculated type: The epidermis may be thinned, the basal cells may be flatter and more pigmented, and the dermis may be very thin. The center is composed of mature fat cells. 3. Papular type: Epidermal hyperkeratosis, regular acanthosis, and occasional horn cysts may be seen. 2. Treatment: 1. Non-surgical treatment: 1) Chemical cauterization: Phenol or trichloroacetic acid can be applied topically to corrode the tumor. 2) Treatment by methods such as liquid nitrogen freezing, electrocoagulation or laser. 3) Larger skin lesions can be treated with electrodesiccation under local anesthesia. 2. Surgical resection: Larger pedunculated lesions can be surgically removed at their roots. Most of the time, no anesthesia is required and it can be cut off at the base. If bleeding occurs, aluminum chloride can be used externally to stop the bleeding. 3. Skin tag care 1. Encourage children to build up confidence in overcoming the disease, mobilize their subjective enthusiasm, maintain an optimistic spirit, and avoid tension. 2. Pay attention to getting enough sleep, avoid overwork, balance work and rest, and pay attention to the regularity of life. 3. Eat a balanced diet, light meals and avoid spicy and irritating foods. |
