Do I need an injection for a glass cut? What should I pay attention to when cleaning the wound

At the same time, in life, your hands may be accidentally scratched during the cleaning process due to frequent glass cleaning or carelessness. If the skin of your hands is scratched, you don’t need to get a tetanus shot for minor wounds. If there is a lot of dust on the glass and it is not very hygienic, you need a tetanus shot to prevent wound infection. In addition to doing this, you should also stop the bleeding immediately, and if conditions permit, you need to disinfect it in time and then bandage it.

Methods/Steps

Stop bleeding immediately: When the wound is deep and bleeding is excessive, the bleeding should be stopped immediately. If conditions are insufficient, direct pressure with your hands can usually stop the bleeding quickly. Bleeding usually stops within 1 to 2 minutes. If conditions permit, place a clean, absorbent towel on the wound and apply pressure with your hands.

Clean the wound : If the wound is very dirty and is only bleeding, you should clean the wound first to prevent bacteria from penetrating and causing infection. Generally, water or saline solution

Disinfect the wound : In order to prevent bacteria from growing and infecting the wound, the wound should be disinfected. Generally, the wound can be cleaned with disinfectant paper towels or disinfectant alcohol, which can effectively kill bacteria and accelerate wound healing.

Keep the wound moist : If the wound is exposed to the air, it is easy to scab and slow down the growth of new cells.

Sugar can heal wounds : applying an appropriate amount of sugar to the wound can speed up wound healing and prevent scabs from forming. It should be noted that before applying sugar, you need to ensure that the wound has been cleaned and is no longer bleeding, because sugar will make a bleeding wound bleed more easily. Also, do not use powdered sugar or brown sugar, as they will cause scabs to form on the wound.

Tetanus injection : Tetanus injection can effectively prevent infection and is also a necessary preventive measure.

Precautions

If the bleeding does not stop or the wound is so deep that you can see the bone, seek medical attention immediately.
