Early symptoms and precursors of lung cancer

Early symptoms and precursors of lung cancer

The early symptoms and precursors of lung cancer include cough, blood in sputum or hemoptysis, hoarseness, chest and back pain, chest tightness and shortness of breath, etc., and you need to go to a regular hospital for diagnosis and treatment.

1. Cough: Lung cancer patients may have a cough that lasts for 2 to 3 weeks in the early stages, and cough suppressants are not effective. If accompanied by blood in the sputum, it should be taken seriously and medical attention should be sought in a timely manner.

2. Blood in sputum or hemoptysis: Some lung cancer patients have blood in their sputum and sometimes cough up blood. This is usually because the tumor tissue has a rich blood supply, and severe coughing can easily cause blood vessels to rupture and lead to bleeding.

3. Hoarseness: Many lung cancer patients will experience hoarseness. The hoarseness is sudden and develops rapidly. The voice may disappear completely within a short period of time. Conventional treatment is ineffective.

4. Chest and back pain: When the tumor grows larger and compresses blood vessels, nerves, and invades the pleura, pain may occur. The location of this pain is uncertain but may be persistent.

5. Chest tightness and shortness of breath: When the mass compresses or blocks the trachea or bronchus, you may experience chest tightness and shortness of breath, which may not be relieved even when you are resting. In addition, lung cancer may also affect the pleura and cause pleural effusion, which can aggravate breathing difficulties.

During the treatment, you should pay attention to rest and ensure adequate sleep, which will help improve your immunity and resistance and help your body recover.
