What are the symptoms of advanced cervical cancer? Symptoms of advanced cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is a major disease that threatens women's health. For many women, they usually neglect healthy living, which leads to the occurrence of cancer and seriously affects their own health. Cervical cancer needs to be detected and treated early. It will be more difficult to treat in the late stage. So what are the symptoms of late-stage cervical cancer?

1. Bleeding from female private parts

Irregular bleeding from the female private parts is the main symptom of cervical cancer patients (80% to 85%). The amount of bleeding from the female private parts can be more or less. Bleeding from the female private parts is often caused by ruptured blood vessels in the tumor. In particular, bleeding symptoms appear earlier in cervical tumors. Especially after menopause, bleeding from the female private parts should be paid more attention. If bleeding occurs frequently, excessive blood loss can lead to severe anemia. In late-stage cases, heavy bleeding from the female private parts may cause shock, which is more common in invasive tumors.

2. Pain

Pain is also a late symptom of cervical cancer. The main cause of pain is that the pelvic nerves are infiltrated or compressed by the tumor. If the obturator nerve, sacral nerve, large blood vessels or pelvic wall are affected, it can cause severe pain, sometimes radiating to the lower limbs. Other causes of pain are: lower abdominal pain when the cervical canal is blocked by cancer, the drainage of secretions in the uterine cavity is poor or uterine cavity pyometra is formed; when the tumor invades the paracervical tissue and the ureter is compressed or infiltrated, it can cause ureteral or pelvic ureteral hydrops, resulting in distension or spasm of severe pain on one or both sides of the lower abdomen; when the tumor compresses the iliac lymph nodes and the iliac blood vessels block the return flow, swelling and pain in the lower limbs may occur.

3. Increased discharge from female private parts

It usually occurs before bleeding from the female private parts. Symptoms of advanced cervical cancer: Initially, the female private parts secretions may not have any odor. As the tumor grows, the tumor becomes infected and necrotic, and the secretions increase, like rice washing water or mixed with blood, and have a foul odor. When the tumor spreads upward and involves the endometrium, the female private parts secretions are blocked by the cervical cancer tissue and cannot be discharged, which may form intrauterine fluid or intrauterine pyometra. The patient may experience symptoms such as lower abdominal discomfort, lower abdominal pain, back pain, and fever.

4. Fever

Late-stage patients have fever due to the metabolism of tumor tissue, absorption of necrotic tissue or combined infection. The body temperature of patients with advanced cervical cancer is generally around 38°C, and a few can reach above 39°C. Anemia, weight loss and even cachexia occur due to bleeding and consumption. With the spread of cancer cells, severe cases may form bladder-female private parts fistula; when the tumor invades the rectum, there are symptoms such as difficulty in defecation and blood in the stool, and severe cases may form female private parts-rectal fistula.

5. Other symptoms

The cancer can spread forward and invade the bladder. The patient will experience frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, prolapse and hematuria, which are often misdiagnosed as urinary tract infection and delayed diagnosis. In severe cases, bladder-female private parts fistula may form. The cancer can spread backward and invade the rectum, causing symptoms such as prolapse, difficulty in defecation, tenesmus, blood in the stool, and further development may cause female private parts-rectal fistula. Distant metastasis may occur in the late stage of the disease. Different sites of metastasis will cause different symptoms. The most common is supraclavicular lymph node metastasis, where nodules or lumps appear. Tumor infiltration can spread to distant organs through blood vessels or lymphatic system, resulting in metastatic lesions in corresponding parts and corresponding symptoms.

6. How to prevent cervical cancer

(1) Advocate for late marriage and fewer and better births. Delaying the age of sexual intercourse and reducing the number of births can reduce the chance of cervical cancer.

(2) Actively prevent and treat cervical ulcers and chronic cervicitis. During delivery, be careful to avoid cervical lacerations. If lacerations occur, they should be repaired in time.

(3) Pay attention to sexual and menstrual hygiene. Moderate sex life. Avoid sex during menstruation and the postpartum period. Pay attention to the cleanliness of both parties' reproductive organs. Wear condoms during sex to reduce and eliminate multiple sexual partners.

(4) If the man has phimosis or prepuce that is too long, he should pay attention to local cleaning and preferably undergo circumcision. This will not only reduce the risk of his wife developing cervical cancer, but also prevent his own penile cancer.

(5) Special attention should be paid to regular screening for high-risk groups for cervical cancer, including women who have sex too early or too often, women who give birth too early, too often or too frequently, women who have a history of promiscuous sex, multiple sexual partners or unclean sex, women in areas with poor sanitary conditions and lack of sexual health knowledge, women with cervical ulcers, tears, chronic inflammation and female private part infections, and women whose spouses have foreskin that is too long or phimosis. If conditions permit, cervical cancer embolus can be used for preventive treatment.
