If there is something in the stomach during gastroscopy, could it be stomach cancer?

Gastroscopy is the gold standard for diagnosing gastric cancer, but finding something in the stomach during gastroscopy does not necessarily mean it is gastric cancer. If you suspect you have gastric cancer, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time and get a clear diagnosis through pathological examination.

Gastroscopy uses a thin and soft tube to extend into the stomach to observe the condition of the gastric mucosa. If something is found in the stomach during gastroscopy, it may be caused by food residues, polyps, ulcers, etc. There may also be other reasons, such as bile reflux gastritis, Helicobacter pylori infection, etc. Gastric cancer cannot be judged based on this test result alone;

If you find something in your stomach during a gastroscopy, and it is hard, rough, cauliflower-like or nodular, it may be a sign of gastric cancer. At this time, further pathological examination is required, that is, taking a piece of tissue for laboratory analysis to determine whether it is a malignant tumor. Once gastric cancer is diagnosed, surgical treatment is required in a timely manner, combined with auxiliary treatment measures such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Clinically, it is not possible to judge whether you have gastric cancer based solely on the results of one test. If you experience any discomfort or are worried about the existence of a disease, you should seek medical attention in a timely manner to complete relevant examinations and receive targeted treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
