Liver cancer pain is the most common and typical symptom of primary liver cancer patients. Most patients with mid- to late-stage liver cancer present with pain in the liver area as the first symptom, with an incidence rate of over 50%. It is usually chronic and persistent dull pain, accompanied by nausea, loss of appetite, and general fatigue. It is mainly caused by the compression of normal tissues by the cancer lesions, and can often radiate to the right shoulder or back. Liver cancer pain is generally located in the right ribs or under the xiphoid process, and the pain is intermittent or persistent. It is dull or stabbing. For a period of time before the pain, the patient may feel discomfort in the right upper abdomen. The pain may be mild or severe or relieve itself in the short term. Cancer pain should generally be diagnosed first. It is currently divided into four categories internationally: (1) Pain directly caused by cancer: accounting for 78.6%, which can be relieved by anti-tumor treatment. The principle of treatment is anti-tumor plus analgesia. (2) Cancer-related pain: 6.0% of cases, which can also be relieved by anti-tumor treatment. The drugs available for these two types of pain include paclitaxel, cisplatin, and ginsenoside Rh2 (life-protecting agent). (3) Pain related to cancer treatment: accounting for 8.2%, mainly treated with analgesics. (4) Pain not related to cancer: accounting for 7.2%, such as pain caused by existing gout and arthritis. In addition, there is a folk remedy for treating liver cancer pain. Drinking water boiled with hawthorn and white radish can also relieve pain. The main cause of liver cancer pain is the rapid growth of the tumor, which compresses the liver capsule and produces pulling pain. It can also be caused by the necrosis of the tumor irritating the liver capsule. A small number of patients experience severe pain in the liver area spontaneously or suddenly after liver puncture. Most of them are caused by the rupture and bleeding of cancerous nodules on the surface of the liver. If accompanied by a drop in blood pressure and shock, and bloody fluid in the abdominal puncture, it means that the cancerous nodules are severely ruptured and bleeding. In this case, emergency rescue is required. |
