Why is the tap water white?

The drinking water we drink in our daily life is generally tap water, because if we often drink purified water, there are many nutrients in it, which will be filtered out, which will make our body muscles weak. Tap water contains a lot of calcium. Although it is not as pure as purified water, it contains the energy our body needs. So why does tap water turn white?

The tap water is white and contains bubbles due to excessive water pressure!

1: If the water becomes clear after you leave it alone for a few minutes, it is usually caused by excessive water pressure (common in canteens and dormitories of enterprises and institutions) rather than impurities.

2: The water is whitish. The white water is caused by the penetration of gas into the tap water, which is decomposed into tiny bubbles under pressure, making the water look milky white. After standing still for a few minutes, the bubbles will disappear on their own and the water will become clear. This phenomenon will not affect the water quality.

3: For example, if the city main pipe breaks, the water plant needs to shut down the water supply for repairs. When repairing the main pipe, the water in the main pipe must be drained to repair the leak! During the water outage, the main pipe is empty and there is no water. When the pipe is repaired, water is flowing through it and pressurized, the water that comes out will be milky white. This is normal. Put the water in a bowl and it will become clear after a while. These are the bubbles produced when the pressure room is pressurized and water is recirculated through the main pipeline. The density is too dense and it becomes milky white. Maybe in less than a few hours, at most the next day, the water will be clear!! Drink it with confidence!!

4: This is because there is a large amount of air in the water pipe, and the water and air dissolve into one during the flow and transportation of water. When it is released, the pressure is released and the air is released, just like when you shake a bottle of wine up and down, the clear wine quickly becomes as white as rice water, and then immediately returns to clarity after it stands still. This phenomenon is more obvious in winter. Because the colder the water, the thicker it is.

5: The white water quality is that gas is dissolved in the tap water, which is decomposed into tiny bubbles under pressure (invisible to the naked eye). The dense arrangement of bubbles makes the flowing water feel milky white. After standing in the container for a few minutes, the water will become clear as the bubbles disappear. This phenomenon will not affect the quality of tap water.

There is also bleaching powder in the tap water, which causes the tap water to turn white!

1: Many people find that the water turns milky white and say that too much bleach is added. In the water filtration process of the water plant, bleaching powder is indeed required to kill E. coli. So it's not a bleach problem.

2: The microorganisms in some secondary water supply storage tanks (boxes) exceed the standard, and the addition of bleaching powder produces a slightly white-gray color. After draining, the outflowing water is a light white-gray color with a slight pungent chlorine smell. After standing for a few minutes, there is a small amount of tiny particles precipitated (usually there will not be any). This phenomenon will not harm human health.
