What is minimally invasive targeted interventional therapy for liver cancer? A brief analysis of minimally invasive targeted interventional technology for the treatment of liver cancer

Liver cancer refers to malignant tumors that occur in the liver, including primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer. When people talk about liver cancer, they are mostly referring to primary liver cancer. Primary liver cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in clinical practice. According to the latest statistics, there are about 600,000 new liver cancer patients in the world each year, ranking fifth among malignant tumors. Primary liver cancer can be divided into hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma and mixed liver cancer according to cell type.

Minimally invasive targeted interventional technology refers to the diagnosis and treatment of minimally invasive technology that inserts a puncture needle or introduces a guide wire or catheter percutaneously or percavitary for suction injection, drainage, fistula creation, or shaping, perfusion, embolization of the lumen and blood vessels under the monitoring of imaging systems such as X-ray, B-ultrasound, and CT. Minimally invasive interventional therapy is one of the current non-surgical treatment methods for liver cancer.

Liver cancer has an insidious onset and is highly malignant. Most patients are in the middle or advanced stages when they seek medical treatment. The success rate of surgical resection is low, so non-surgical treatment is often used. With the development of minimally invasive interventional radiology, minimally invasive interventional targeted therapy has become the recognized first choice for non-surgical treatment of liver cancer.

Indications: Hypervascular liver cancer.

Advantages: less trauma, mild side effects, can be treated repeatedly, improves quality of life and prolongs life.

Minimally invasive interventional targeted therapy combined with other treatments may become an alternative to surgery, bringing new hope to patients with unresectable tumors.
