What should you do to prevent colorectal cancer?

In recent years, the incidence of colorectal cancer in my country has been increasing, and related reports on colorectal cancer can often be seen on television and in newspapers. In daily life, we should pay attention to the prevention of colorectal cancer early and prevent it from happening from the smallest details of life.

Diet

Influenced by Western elements, most residents today eat a Western diet that is high in fat, protein, and low in dietary fiber. This type of food contains a large amount of saturated fatty acids, which can easily lead to a disorder in the composition of the intestinal flora and promote the production and development of carcinogens. This is also the main reason for the surge in various digestive tract malignant tumors in recent years.

Therefore, it is recommended to eat enough fruits and vegetables every day. The World Health Organization recommends that eating 2 servings of fruit and 5 servings of vegetables every day can greatly reduce the risk of colon cancer. Eat more foods containing dietary fiber and light foods. Konjac, soy products, algae, etc., can help reduce the risk of colon cancer. In terms of diet, it should also be light, and eat less spicy and irritating foods. Spinach, bitter melon, black fungus, etc. are all good preventive foods. Eat less foods rich in saturated fat and cholesterol. For example, animal offal, fat, animal fats, fish roe, squid, etc. Do not eat fried foods.

Physical Examination

If you experience any of the following five symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately: changes in normal bowel habits, constipation, diarrhea; blood or mucus in the stool; persistent abdominal bloating or pain in the recent period; unexplained progressive anemia, weight loss, fatigue; palpable lumps in the abdomen, etc.

Five types of people are recommended to have regular checkups. Those who have bad bowel habits, such as reading while using the toilet, or those who are prone to anorectal diseases; those who stand or sit for long periods of time and suffer from chronic constipation; those who have irregular daily routines, often overeat, and like to eat greasy and spicy foods; those who suffer from anorectal diseases, such as colorectal polyps and ulcerative colitis; those with a family history of colorectal cancer and those who have undergone cholecystectomy.

Habits

Develop a habit of regular bowel movements. Generally speaking, the time of day when you feel the urge to defecate is in the morning after waking up and after eating. You can go to bed earlier to set aside a fixed time for defecation. If you do not have a bowel movement in the morning, you can adjust it to after dinner. It is best to do half an hour of exercise first to stimulate the peristalsis of the large intestine and facilitate defecation.

Get some sun exposure. A US study found that sunlight is closely related to the incidence of colorectal cancer. Researchers believe that vitamin D has a certain preventive effect on colorectal cancer. Therefore, office workers who work in office buildings for a long time should take time out every day to get some sun exposure.

Reduce sitting and exercise more. White-collar workers need to sit in the office for a long time to work. Incorrect sitting posture will aggravate abdominal congestion. Sitting for a long time can cause abdominal distension and constipation. If it is not cleared every day, it will accumulate in the intestines for a long time. The harmful substances in the feces can easily damage the intestinal mucosa, thus inducing cancer.
