1. Medical and health care considerations for IVF embryo transfer

(1) You can eat normally on the day of surgery.

(2) Rest in bed for 2 hours after surgery.

(3) Rest in bed within 3 days after the operation, and try to rest in bed as much as possible within 7 days, and do less activity. After 7 days, you can resume normal work and life.

(4) Keep bowel movements smooth, eat more fruits, vegetables and other easily digestible foods, and avoid spicy foods. Pay attention to hygiene and prevent colds, gastroenteritis and vaginitis.

For those with a positive urine pregnancy test, a blood test for human chorionic gonadotropin is performed 14 days after the embryo transfer surgery. Ultrasound examination can be performed one month after embryo transfer.

(8) Sexual intercourse is prohibited for 3 weeks after embryo transfer surgery. If pregnancy is confirmed, sexual intercourse is prohibited for 3 months.

II. Medical care considerations for IVF egg retrieval

(1) Both husband and wife should take a bath and clean the vulva the night before the operation.

(2) Eat a small amount of food on the morning of egg retrieval.

(3) Empty your bowels and bladder before egg retrieval.

(4) Oral antibiotics before egg retrieval.

(5) Mild abdominal pain, bloating and minimal vaginal bleeding may occur after the egg retrieval procedure. If fever, severe abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding exceeding menstrual bleeding occurs, seek medical attention immediately.

(6) Continue taking antibiotics for 2 days after the egg retrieval procedure.

3. Tips

1. In clinical practice, the older the woman is, the greater the resistance to conception she faces. The increased risk of fertility will naturally reduce the success rate of IVF. IVF technology is not suitable for all women with difficulty conceiving. In terms of age, generally speaking, the success rate of IVF for women over 35 years old will be lower, so you should try IVF before the age of 35.
