Can eating skewers in the summer cause liver cancer? These symptoms are very likely to be liver cancer

Liver cancer is the third most common malignant tumor with a mortality rate second only to gastric cancer and esophageal cancer. In my country, about 110,000 people die of liver cancer each year, accounting for 45% of the world's liver cancer deaths. Therefore, liver cancer is also known as the "king of cancers." The occurrence of liver cancer is closely related to people's daily living habits and eating habits. Its onset is often caused by the accumulation of inconspicuous daily details. When it comes to barbecue, many people will swallow their saliva. The delicious taste of charred outside and tender inside is very tempting. Many people like to make an appointment with three or five friends to "eat skewers" in their spare time, but did you know that frequent use of barbecued food may lead to the occurrence of liver cancer.

Some experts say that nitrosamines, heterocyclic amines and benzopyrene contained in grilled food are all common carcinogens. Grilled food is marinated for a long time before grilling, and nitrosamines are produced during the cooking process. Nitrosamines can enter the body through the skin and digestive tract. Secondly, meat, protein-rich fish, etc., will produce heterocyclic amines after high-temperature cooking. Heterocyclic amines are a class of compounds, including aminocarbolines, which have carcinogenic effects. In addition, because the meat is grilled directly at high temperatures, the decomposed fat drips onto the charcoal fire, and the thermal polymerization reaction produced by the carbonization of the food fat combines with the protein in the meat, which will produce a highly carcinogenic substance attached to the surface of the food - benzopyrene.

Symptoms of liver cancer

1. Pain in the liver area

The vast majority of patients with advanced liver cancer present with pain in the liver area as the first symptom, with an incidence rate of over 50%. Pain in the liver area is generally located in the right ribs or under the xiphoid process, and the pain is intermittent or persistent. It is dull or stabbing, and the patient may feel discomfort in the right upper abdomen for a period of time before the pain. The pain may be mild or severe or relieve itself in the short term. The main cause of the pain is the rapid enlargement of the tumor, which compresses the liver capsule and produces pulling pain. It can also be caused by the necrosis of the tumor irritating the liver capsule.

2. Weight loss and fatigue

Liver cancer patients often feel more fatigued than other tumor patients, which may be due to digestive disorders and nutritional absorption disorders leading to insufficient energy. Weight loss is also a common symptom of liver cancer patients, which is due to liver damage and decreased digestion and absorption functions. As the disease progresses, the degree of weight loss may worsen, and cachexia may occur in severe cases.

3. Fever

A considerable number of liver cancer patients will experience sweating and fever. Most fevers are low to moderate, and a few patients may have high fevers, usually without chills. The fever of liver cancer is mostly cancer fever, which is caused by the release of pyrogens into the blood circulation after tumor tissue necrosis.

Liver cancer is a latent disease, with no symptoms in the early stages. When patients show obvious clinical symptoms, the disease is often in the middle or late stages. Therefore, regular self-examination and physical examinations are very important. If you have unexplained fever, loss of appetite, nausea, jaundice and other symptoms, be sure to go to the hospital for examination to help confirm the diagnosis.
