Chronic cervicitis is a manifestation of cervical erosion and also a pathological change. So is it difficult to distinguish chronic cervicitis from early cervical cancer with the naked eye? Studies have found that chronic cervicitis and cervical cancer are difficult to identify with the naked eye, because early cervical cancer usually has no symptoms, or only increased vaginal discharge and contact bleeding. Cervical cancer is mainly caused by chronic cervicitis. Cervicitis is a chronic erosive or proliferative inflammation of the cervix, mostly acute cervicitis. The symptoms of chronic cervicitis are increased vaginal discharge, pus, yellow or bloody discharge, odor, lower abdominal pain, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea and infertility. The different manifestations of cervical cancer are as follows: 1. Cervical warts Now it is a cervical neoplasm, which has an uneven surface and sometimes fuses into a cauliflower shape, which can be identified by biopsy. Cervical erosion There may be bleeding during menstruation or contact bleeding, increased vaginal discharge, small bright red particles around the external cervical opening, and bleeding after wiping, making it difficult to identify early cervical cancer. Vaginal exfoliative cytology or biopsy can make a clear diagnosis. 3. Cervical polyps Menstrual bleeding or contact bleeding can be clinically diagnosed, but the surface of cervical polyps is smooth and elastic, and the pathological diagnosis is clear. 4. Cervical eversion The everted mucosa has excessive proliferation, uneven appearance, and is prone to bleeding. However, the everted cervical mucosa has good elasticity and neat edges. Vaginal exfoliative cytology or biopsy can identify it. 5. Endometrial cancer Irregular vaginal bleeding and increased vaginal discharge. When endometrial cancer involves the cervix, cancerous tissue can be seen blocking the cervical canal. Diagnosis must be performed by segmental curettage for pathological examination. Other benign cervical lesions such as submucosal fibroids, cervical tuberculosis, and amoebic cervicitis can be differentiated from cervical cancer through biopsy. |
