5 types of people cannot undergo dental plastic surgery

Nowadays, appearance is everything, so many people have high demands on their appearance. Everyone hopes that their image will be better. So when teeth are not good-looking, everyone will choose orthodontic treatment to make their appearance more perfect. Although orthodontic treatment seems to be relatively simple, it does carry certain risks for some people.

1. People with acute infectious diseases

For example, people in the active stage of acute hepatitis and tuberculosis patients should wait until the disease stabilizes before going to the hospital for orthodontic surgery.

2. People with bleeding disorders

For example, patients with thrombocytopenia and leukemia have poor blood coagulation mechanisms and are prone to excessive bleeding during dental surgery.

3. Patients with acute inflammation of local oral soft and hard tissues

Orthodontic treatment should be done after the acute phase is over to avoid local aggravation of inflammation or its transmission and spread through the blood.

4. Patients with malignant tumors of the gums

It is not advisable to undergo routine orthodontic surgery to avoid local and distant spread of the tumor.

5. Suffering from active angina

Patients who have had myocardial infarction within six months, as well as those with uncontrolled hypertension and heart failure, should not undergo routine orthodontic surgery.

Precautions

1. It is best to have dental plastic surgery when boys are around twelve years old and girls are around eleven years old, because at this time the deciduous teeth have just been replaced and the jawbone still has the potential for development, which is conducive to achieving better results and the teeth can grow normally after plastic surgery.

2. Of course, it is not impossible for adults to have orthodontic treatment! From an objective point of view, the growth and development of adults has been completed, the maxillofacial sutures have become bony fusions, the plasticity of bones, nerves and muscles is low, and the metabolic rate of adults has slowed down and the biological reactivity has decreased. Therefore, orthodontic treatment for adults is much more complicated than that for children. Compared with teenagers, the treatment for adults is mainly tooth movement. Severe bone deformities need to be corrected through orthognathic surgery. The course of treatment and maintenance time are relatively long, generally taking one to two years. However, most adult patients make their own requests, actively cooperate with treatment, execute doctor's orders well, and maintain oral hygiene, so the course of treatment may even be shortened, and the final correction effect is still ideal.
