How are pituitary tumors staged? What are the treatments for pituitary tumors?

Pituitary tumors are classified into grades one to five based on the relationship between the tumor and surrounding tissues. Different conditions require different treatments, which are mainly through medication and surgery.

1. Grade 1 <br/>Pituitary tumors are currently graded using the Hardy-Wilson grading method, which is based on the relationship between the tumor and surrounding tissue. Tumors with a diameter of less than 10 mm and located within the sella ovale are graded as grade 1.
2. Level 2 <br/>Based on the first stage, the tumor expands to the suprasellar region, fills the suprasellar cistern, and reaches a diameter of 10 mm, which is level 2.
3. Grade 3 <br/>Grade 3 refers to tumors that are between 10 and 20 mm and affect the third ventricle.
Grade 4 : The tumor fills the front of the third ventricle and is 20 to 30 mm in size. Grade 5 refers to the tumor reaching the lateral ventricle and is larger than 30 mm in diameter.
