What is the applicable scope of gastric cancer radiotherapy? Pay attention to these

Radiotherapy is a method of treating gastric cancer. The scope of radiotherapy can be divided into preoperative radiotherapy and postoperative radiotherapy. Another type is palliative radiotherapy for patients who are not likely to be cured. After radiotherapy for gastric cancer, symptoms such as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, hair loss, and numbness of the limbs may occur.

Nowadays people's diet is very complicated, and some foods are particularly unhealthy. They don't pay attention to their diet, so it will cause many diseases, and gastric cancer is the most common one. When encountering this disease, chemotherapy is usually used to treat it, but what is the scope of application of radiotherapy for gastric cancer?
The methods of radiotherapy for gastric cancer can generally be divided into two methods: preoperative radiotherapy and postoperative radiotherapy. Postoperative radiotherapy is generally for patients with T3 and T4 stages and positive lymph nodes after surgery. The main purpose of postoperative radiotherapy is to further consolidate the effect of treatment and reduce the probability of local regional recurrence. Preoperative radiotherapy is mainly aimed at patients with large local tumors who need convertive treatment. The purpose is to achieve complete tumor resection. Preoperative radiotherapy and postoperative radiotherapy are used to treat patients with locally advanced gastric cancer. Patients without the possibility of radical cure need palliative radiotherapy to relieve local symptoms and improve the quality of life.
Radiotherapy is currently widely used in the treatment of malignant tumors and is one of the main methods for treating malignant tumors. The basic principle of radiotherapy is to use high-energy rays to kill tumor cells. Radiotherapy is also widely used in the treatment of gastric cancer. It can be divided into preoperative radiotherapy, intraoperative radiotherapy, postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy, and late palliative radiotherapy.
Some symptoms will appear after radiotherapy for gastric cancer, mainly manifested as leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, hair loss, numbness of the limbs, etc. However, there are some corresponding drugs to prevent chemotherapy reactions during chemotherapy, so patients are basically not too uncomfortable with chemotherapy now. The survival rate after chemotherapy is mainly determined by the patient's stage. The survival rate in the late stage is relatively low, and the five-year survival rate in the early stage is relatively high. Patients should usually eat fresh fruits and vegetables, coarse grains as the staple food, eat more garlic and onions and other foods, eat less meat, and have a reasonable diet. Bad habits such as smoking and drinking should be changed, do not eat high-salt, pickled, and grilled foods, and do not eat with bad emotions. Patients with middle and late stage gastric cancer should pay attention to nutritional support, such as enteral nutrition.
