Is pain in the ribs a sign of liver cancer? Don’t necessarily pay attention to these points

Costochondritis, also known as anterior chest wall syndrome, is a common cause of anterior chest pain. Since the pain is in the anterior chest, it is easily confused with angina pectoris. Patients often mistakenly think that the pain in the ribs is liver cancer. The cause is generally related to trauma. When people carry heavy objects, twist sharply or squeeze the chest, the sternocostal joint cartilage is acutely damaged, or due to chronic strain or colds and colds, it causes viral infection, leading to edema and thickening of the sternocostal joint surface cartilage. Aseptic inflammatory reaction causes the disease. Or it is related to malnutrition of costal cartilage development, inflammation of sternocostal joints, and myofasciitis.

Its clinical manifestations are pain in the front chest, which is mostly sore and distended. The onset is sudden or slow, sometimes mild and sometimes severe. It can be aggravated by turning over, coughing, deep breathing, and upper limb activities, and sometimes radiates to the upper limbs. If tenderness is found at the 2-5 costal cartilages, it tends to recur if not treated promptly and thoroughly. In clinical practice, it should be distinguished from diseases such as coronary heart disease angina pectoris and tuberculous pleurisy. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the pain of costochondritis spreads to the chest, ribs, and upper arms due to qi stagnation; local bulges, obvious tenderness, and fixed pain points are blood stasis. Stagnation of qi and blood, wind-heat invading the meridians, toxic heat and fierceness, qi and blood are blocked and blocked. Pain occurs when the qi and blood are blocked.
