How long can you live with melanoma? Can it be cured?

For most melanoma patients and their families, how long can they live with melanoma and whether they can get thorough treatment are their biggest concerns. So let us tell you how long can you live with melanoma. Early melanoma is sometimes confused with ordinary moles, so the best time for treatment is delayed. Therefore, regular professional medical institutions are also very relevant for the treatment of patients' diseases.

There is no clear answer to how long you can live with melanoma, but it is related to many factors. Melanoma is a tumor mainly distributed on the surface of the skin. It is also a precursor symptom of skin cancer and has a high mortality rate. It must be diagnosed and treated in time. It is a malignant tumor of melanocytes from the pigmented areas of the skin, mucous membranes, eyes and central nervous system. Every year, there are 25,000 new cases of malignant melanoma in the United States and about 6,000 deaths. The incidence of the disease is rising rapidly. Sun exposure is a risk factor. The same risk factors include family history, malignant lentigo, large congenital melanocytic nevus and dysplastic nevus syndrome. It is rare in black people.

After surgical treatment of malignant melanoma, the 5-year survival rate can reach 60% ≤ 80%. However, if it is not discovered and treated in time, the 5-year survival rate in the late stage is less than 5%, and metastasis and recurrence are very likely to occur. Therefore, combined with the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine after surgery, the residual lesions can be clearly understood to prolong the survival time of melanoma patients. At present, many clinical patients use ginsenoside Rh2 to reduce the toxic and side effects of treatment, anti-inflammatory, and analgesia.

Therefore, timely and appropriate treatment is the key to improving the survival rate of patients with malignant melanoma. It is worth noting that when progressive moles are found on the body, do not burn them without authorization, let alone remove them casually. After the tumor is removed in a regular hospital, a pathological examination must be performed to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.

For some elderly patients, their bodies are so weak that they cannot undergo surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy, but this does not mean that there is no treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine can improve the patient's immunity, improve people's immunity through the adjustment of overall functions, improve the quality of life, reduce the patient's pain and prolong the patient's life.

Patients with these local skin changes should be treated as soon as possible, and a biopsy can be performed after puncture or removal of the tumor for early diagnosis. However, moles in vulnerable areas such as the soles of the feet, heels, waistline, and armpits should be removed as soon as possible. For patients suspected of malignant melanoma, normal skin and subcutaneous fat should be removed within 0.5 cm and 1 cm around them, and pathological examination should be performed at the same time.

If pathological examination confirms that it is malignant melanoma, tumors with a thickness of less than or equal to 1mm should be surgically removed (including removal of normal skin and subcutaneous fat within 1cm outside the tumor); for tumors with a thickness greater than 1cm, the removal range should be expanded to 3-5cm outside the tumor; for acral malignant melanoma, surgical removal of fingers (toes) is usually required. In addition, surgical resection, radiotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine can also be considered for isolated metastasis. We don't need to ask doctors how long we can live with melanoma. As long as we can actively cooperate with treatment with a positive attitude, we believe that we can definitely make patients live long with high quality.
