What is the diagnosis method for fibroids

What is the diagnosis method of fibroids? If the existence of fibroids can be discovered and treated in time, it would be a blessing in disguise for patients, because the hope of medical cure is still very high. So today we will take a look at the diagnosis method of fibroids:

Histopathology: It manifests as nodules in the dermis, without capsule, and with unclear lesion boundaries. It is composed of varying numbers of fibroblasts, immature or mature collagen. Generally, it is divided into fibrous or cellular types according to which component is dominant in the tumor. In fibrous skin fibroma, most of it is immature collagen, which is mostly scattered and not bundled. Mature collagen is staggered and arranged irregularly. Sometimes fibroblasts and collagen are arranged in a swirl or wheel shape. In cellular skin fibroma, a large number of fibroblasts can be seen, with only a small amount of collagen fibers. About 1/3 of skin fibromas have lipids or hemosiderin in the cells. Regardless of whether it is fibrous or cellular, more than 80% of the lesions have obvious hyperplasia of the epidermis above the center, which is of diagnostic significance.

Diagnosis and differential diagnosis:

The rash of cutaneous fibroma is very typical and easy to diagnose. Some rashes that are indeed atypical can be confirmed by biopsy and pathology. In terms of differentiation, it is mainly distinguished from nodular prurigo (severe itching), keloid (continuously spreading, itchy and painful), fibrosarcoma (malignant, invasive and metastatic), nodular xanthomas (yellow rash, often multiple), and juvenile xanthogranulomas (onset in infancy and can heal on its own). When it is difficult to differentiate, it is recommended to combine it with pathology.

Although fibroma is a benign tumor, it may also become malignant, especially if the tumor grows rapidly or the patient is older, has a long course of disease, or has relapsed multiple times. In this case, you should be vigilant, seek medical attention in time, and prevent changes in your condition.
