How to diagnose small cell lung cancer

How to diagnose small cell lung cancer? As the environment and air become worse and worse, and the degree of urban industrialization increases, the number of people suffering from lung cancer has been on the rise. Lung cancer is a relatively serious disease and poses a great threat to human health. So how to diagnose it? Today we will talk about how to diagnose small cell lung cancer.

1. Choose chest CT: In terms of finding lesions, some reports indicate that spiral CT can enhance the display of lung nodules by 40% compared with plain X-ray films. Due to the large amount of X-rays and high cost, this method cannot be used for routine physical examinations. Brain CT/MRI can also be performed: Lung cancer is prone to brain metastasis, and brain examination should be performed before treatment to confirm the diagnosis. MRI examination is better than CT.

2. Take chest X-rays: Bronchogenic carcinoma is divided into central and peripheral types. Peripheral lung cancer accounts for about 80%. The early diagnosis of central type mainly relies on oncology and bronchoscopy. X-rays can show secondary obstructive changes. X-rays play an important role in the early detection of peripheral lung cancer. Despite the existence of a variety of complex and advanced imaging technologies, X-rays are still the preferred imaging method for lung cancer.

3. Choose to have a bone scan: 3% of lung cancer patients have bone metastasis as the first symptom, and about 30% to 40% of advanced patients will have bone metastasis. The most commonly used bone imaging technology is radionuclide bone scanning. Positive lesions indicated by bone scans, especially patients with multiple bone metastases in weight-bearing bones, should undergo CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for further differential diagnosis.

How to make a clear diagnosis of small cell lung cancer? From the above content, we can see that small cell lung cancer can be correctly diagnosed through CT, scanning and other chest X-ray methods. I hope these are helpful to everyone.

Above we talked about the issue of how to diagnose small cell lung cancer. I believe that through this introduction, everyone has already understood it.
