How to detect early tongue cancer

How to detect early tongue cancer? Early diagnosis of tongue cancer is of great significance for its treatment. Although tongue cancer is very harmful, the examination of this disease is not very complicated. If patients want to better treat tongue cancer, it is also necessary to understand the examination methods of tongue cancer. So, how to detect early tongue cancer?

What are the examination methods for tongue cancer?

In fact, there are still many examination items for tongue cancer, among which MRI is a very common one. It can clearly distinguish soft tissue lesions and abnormal conditions, which is of great significance for early diagnosis. As a better imaging examination method for the oropharynx, it can further clarify the scope of the tumor through scanning, and can also identify the histological nature of the tumor. In addition, B-ultrasound examination is also very important, which can evaluate the size and shape of metastatic lymph nodes, and also know the specific number.

Routine X-ray examinations are also very common. For example, a chest X-ray can be used to determine whether there are metastatic lesions in the lungs. When undergoing laboratory tests, a routine blood test is essential, but the blood test of patients with tongue cancer is generally normal. Only in the late stage will the red blood cell count decrease and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate gradually increase. During a pathological biopsy, a qualitative diagnosis of tongue cancer can be made, and surgery should be performed as soon as possible after the pathological diagnosis is confirmed. A small number of patients with tongue cancer do not have obvious symptoms in the middle stage. They will experience pain in the tongue and sometimes in the ear. Even ulcers are often ignored. Therefore, if you have ulcers in your mouth, pain in the tongue, and other problems, it is better to go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.

There is another examination that cannot be ignored. CT examination is also often used. However, its soft tissue resolution is low and it has certain defects compared to MRI. It is difficult to show small tumors or tumors in the tongue. However, it is the best means to judge the invasion of cortical bone. It can accurately judge the interruption or erosion of cortical bone. It is also one of the important reference bases for disease diagnosis.

After patients understand how to check for tongue cancer, they should not ignore any of the examination items. Of course, after choosing a regular hospital, the diagnostic and treatment equipment introduced will be more advanced and complete, and there will be more examination items to be accepted, which will make the diagnosis more accurate and the treatment will proceed more smoothly.
