What are the characteristics of glioma patients

Glioma is a tumor that occurs in the neuroectoderm. Many people now suffer from brain glioma, which causes great harm to the patient's body. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the symptoms that will appear after contracting this disease so as to attach importance to treatment. The following mainly introduces the characteristics of glioma patients.

There are two aspects of the symptoms of glioma. One of the symptoms is increased intracranial pressure, and some other general symptoms will appear in the body, including headache, vomiting, vision loss, diplopia, epileptic seizures, mental symptoms, etc. Another symptom is that due to the compression, infiltration and destruction of brain tissue tumors, some local symptoms will appear in the body, which will cause neurological dysfunction.

Headache is a symptom that will appear in the body after suffering from glioma. The main reason for these symptoms is the increase in intracranial pressure. The growth of glioma will often lead to a gradual increase in intracranial pressure. Once compression and involvement of pain-sensitive structures in the skull, such as intracranial blood vessels, dura mater, and certain cranial nerves, will cause headaches in the body. Most of the pain is throbbing pain and distending pain, and the pain is concentrated in the frontal, temporal, and occipital regions. The headache is intermittent at first and often occurs in the early morning. Then, as the tumor develops, the headache will gradually worsen and last longer.

Vomiting is also a symptom that will appear after contracting this disease. It is caused by stimulation of the vomiting center in the medulla oblongata and the vagus nerve. Vomiting caused by posterior cranial fossa tumors is more prominent. In addition, symptoms such as increased intracranial pressure may also cause papilledema, secondary nerve atrophy, decreased vision, etc. Some tumor patients have symptoms of epilepsy, and localized epilepsy has localization significance.

The above are the main symptoms that will appear in the body after suffering from brain glioma. In addition to these symptoms, some patients will also experience mental symptoms, which are usually manifested as personality changes, indifference, decreased speech and activities, lack of concentration, memory loss, and lack of care for things and lack of cleanliness.
