What are the principles of diet for pituitary tumors

Pituitary tumor is a benign tumor. Dietary conditioning for pituitary tumors plays an important auxiliary role in the treatment of the disease, especially after surgery. How to eat is very important. The occurrence of all diseases is more or less related to diet. So, what are the principles of diet for pituitary tumors? Let’s take a look at the following introduction.

The pathogenesis of pituitary tumors is a complex multi-step process involving multiple factors, which has not yet been clearly defined. There are mainly two hypotheses: one is the mechanism of hypothalamic regulation disorder, and the other is the mechanism of pituitary cell defects themselves.

Dietary treatment for pituitary tumors

1. Eat more foods containing vitamins A, C, and E, and eat more green vegetables and fruits.

2. Adhere to a low-fat diet and eat lean meat, eggs, yogurt and other foods regularly.

3. Eat less spicy and greasy food, and avoid eating catfish.

4. Eat at regular times, in fixed amounts, and eat small meals frequently.

5. In order to avoid increased intracranial pressure caused by constipation, pay attention to giving enough water to prevent constipation during nursing.

6. Eat foods that can inhibit carcinogenesis regularly, such as kohlrabi, cabbage, carrots, rapeseed, garlic, vegetable oil, fish, etc.

7. Do not eat salted, smoked, grilled or fried foods, especially burnt or charred foods.

8. Postoperative diet should be nutritious, light and easy to digest.

Warm reminder: Most patients will not have recurrence after complete tumor removal, but there are still some cases where the tumor grows again, and the growth site is generally in the original tumor site. Therefore, patients with pituitary tumors need to be reexamined 1-2 times in the first year after surgery. After reexamination, problems can be found in time and timely treatment can be given. If there are no clinical symptoms and imaging abnormalities, the number of reexaminations will gradually decrease.
