A brief introduction to the nursing methods for osteosarcoma

Everyone is familiar with osteosarcoma. It is a disease that endangers human life. Once you have osteosarcoma, you should go to a regular hospital for treatment in time. Don't delay the best treatment time. You should do a good job of nursing before and after the operation. Many people will ask me what are the nursing methods for osteosarcoma? So now let us learn about the nursing methods for osteosarcoma!

(I) Preoperative care methods for osteosarcoma:

(1) Surgery is usually performed 2 weeks after the last preoperative chemotherapy. It is important to maintain a healthy and optimistic mentality, regular work and rest habits, a proper diet and nutrition, and avoid overwork and fatigue to delay the progression of the disease and improve the quality of life.

(2) Osteosarcoma patients often undergo systemic chemotherapy before surgery, which consumes a lot of energy in the body and reduces immunity. They should strengthen systemic nutritional supplements to enhance their physical fitness.

(3) Perform complete blood analysis and urine routine test. Surgery should be prohibited if there is cachexia, multiple metastases throughout the body, or white blood cell count is less than 3x109/L.

(4) Keep warm, prevent colds, measure body temperature regularly, and observe whether you have a fever.

(5) Intravenous administration of effective antibiotics 2 hours before surgery can greatly reduce postoperative infection.

(II) Postoperative care for osteosarcoma includes the following aspects:

1. Follow general orthopedic routine care and osteosarcoma routine care.

2. Strictly implement aseptic operation, keep the negative pressure drainage tube unobstructed, keep the incision dry, observe the healing of the incision and the swelling and blood circulation of the affected limb, avoid prolonged pressure on the incision, and prevent necrosis.

3. Nutrient-rich liquid or semi-liquid food can be eaten 6-12 hours after surgery, and normal food can be given the next day.

The above introduction is the nursing method for osteosarcoma, I believe everyone has understood it. Osteosarcoma must be diagnosed early, treated early, and preoperative care must be done well to be in a good state to welcome the surgery and minimize the postoperative complications of osteosarcoma.
