Will mature teratoma recur?

Will mature teratoma recur?

Ovarian teratoma is a common ovarian germ cell tumor. It usually occurs in women who have given birth. More than 90% of them are benign teratomas, and only a small part are malignant teratomas. You don't have to worry about it being a malignant tumor after the examination. Most mature teratomas occur in women who have given birth around the age of 30. Will mature teratomas recur?

1. Generally, ovarian teratoma should be treated in detail in the hospital and then surgical treatment should be selected. The scope of surgery can be the removal of the affected side adnexa, removal of the affected side teratoma and (or) contralateral ovarian biopsy. The doctor will explain these surgical scopes in detail to you. So try to find it early.

2. The doctor will recommend you to choose laparoscopy or laparotomy. Then, based on the situation seen during the operation, the benign or malignant nature of the teratoma will be preliminarily determined. If it is suspected to be a malignant tumor, it should be sent for frozen pathology examination as soon as possible. Of course, these are prepared by the doctor. Malignant teratoma should also choose a complete staged surgery.

3. In addition to surgery, you should not do strenuous and long-term exercise. You should do moderate exercise to prevent twisting and rupture of the surgical wound. You should pay more attention to rest after the operation. Do not have sex or take a bath within one month. You should also have regular checkups to be alert to recurrence.

Note:

Teratoma may recur. There are many ways to treat ovarian teratoma, and the specific method should be determined according to the patient's condition. Although you can choose Chinese medicine or Western medicine for treatment, Chinese medicine is mainly for conditioning, so Western medicine is better for this disease.
