Is endometrial cancer contagious?

Is endometrial cancer contagious? There are many friends around us who suffer from endometrial cancer. It generally occurs in middle-aged and elderly female friends. It is a type of malignant tumor and is particularly harmful to female friends. Therefore, many female friends can't help but have a question, that is, is endometrial cancer contagious? Today we will introduce this issue in detail.

Endometrial cancer is one of the common gynecological malignancies, and it is more common in menopausal and postmenopausal women. So is endometrial cancer contagious? The disease is generally not contagious, but it may be inherited in families, and this proportion accounts for about 20%. Therefore, if the patient is the best way, it is to seize the time to treat it now. Endometrial cancer, also known as uterine body cancer, is a common gynecological malignancy, second only to cervical cancer. It is very harmful. In principle, as long as the patient's physical condition can tolerate it, they should receive surgical treatment as soon as possible. Endometrial cancer is not a source of infection, so it is impossible to be transmitted like a virus.

Is endometrial cancer contagious? Endometrial cancer is not contagious. Tumors, especially malignant tumors, are not contagious and are not infectious. The causes of endometrial cancer are divided into estrogen-dependent endometrial cancer: the onset may be related to the long-term action of estrogen without progesterone antagonism, which causes endometrial hyperplasia and subsequent canceration; there is also non-estrogen-dependent endometrial cancer (type II), which has no clear relationship with estrogen and may be related to mutations in oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes. Endometrial cancer is not contagious, but the disease can move on its own, and the ways of movement are as follows:

1. Direct spread. At the beginning, the cancer spreads along the endometrium, upward through the uterine horn to the fallopian tube, downward to the cervical canal, and continuously spreads to the vagina. It can also infiltrate through the muscle layer to the uterine serosa and extend to the fallopian tube and ovary. It can also be widely implanted in the pelvic peritoneum, rectouterine pouch and greater omentum.

2. Lymphatic migration. It is the main migration method of endometrial cancer. When the tumor infiltrates into the deep muscle layer, spreads to the cervical canal, or the cancer tissue is poorly differentiated, lymphatic migration is likely to occur. Its migration method is related to the location of the cancer growth. The cancer at the bottom of the uterus moves along the lymphatic network of the upper part of the broad ligament, through the pelvic funnel ligament to the ovary. Upward to the para-aortic lymph nodes. The cancer at the uterine cornu moves along the round ligament to the inguinal lymph nodes. The cancer in the lower uterine segment and cervical canal has the same lymphatic migration method as cervical cancer, and can move to the para-uterine, internal iliac, external iliac, and common iliac lymph nodes. The cancer on the posterior wall of the uterus can spread along the uterosacral ligament to the rectal lymph nodes. Endometrial cancer can also spread to the front of the uterus to the bladder, and then drain to the anterior wall of the vagina through retrograde drainage.

3. Blood flow. Less common. In the late stage, blood flow can move to the lungs, liver, bones, etc.

Female friends, don't worry, endometrial cancer is not contagious, but it can metastasize, so we don't need to be overly afraid. If you have this disease, you must actively seek treatment, have the confidence to defeat the disease, and be a healthy and happy woman.
