Is there any harm in eating more crabs?

Crabs are rich in protein, calcium, and nutrients needed by the human body. Moreover, crab meat is tender and has a soft texture, so many people like to eat crabs. Although crabs are delicious, you can't eat too much of them. Crabs have been growing in water for a long time, and there are many parasitic bacteria in their bodies, which cannot be completely eliminated. Eating too much crabs may cause diarrhea. So what are the disadvantages of eating too much crabs?

Crabs are delicious, and crab meat has the effects of clearing away heat, dispersing nodules, unblocking meridians and nourishing yin. However, because crabs are cold in nature and are prone to harboring parasites, pregnant women who eat too much may suffer from miscarriage, which is harmful to the fetus. Therefore, pregnant women should eat less crabs. As one of the foods that pregnant women should not eat, crabs have the following hazards for pregnant women:

1. Eating crabs can cause miscarriage. Crabs are cold in nature and have the effect of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. They will make the fetus restless and have the effect of moving the fetus, and may also cause miscarriage. It is not advisable to eat a lot of overly cold food during pregnancy, otherwise it is easy to have symptoms such as abdominal pain and diarrhea, and severe cases may lead to miscarriage.

2. Parasites are likely to remain in the bodies of crabs. Crabs are prone to harboring parasites. If they are not cooked thoroughly, the parasites will enter the body of pregnant women and be harmful to the fetus. Moreover, some crabs are fed with large amounts of oxytocin during the breeding process, which contains hormone components and is harmful to the health of pregnant women and fetuses.

3. The dangers of high protein and high cholesterol. Crabs are high-protein foods and are easy to deteriorate and rot. If you accidentally eat dead crabs, it can easily cause symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting, which is extremely dangerous for pregnant women. The high cholesterol in crabs will increase the cholesterol content in the bile of pregnant women, which can easily cause poor bile excretion and congestion. If bile flows back into the pancreatic duct, pancreatic enzymes will be activated prematurely, inducing pancreatitis. Therefore, pregnant women with pregnancy-induced hypertension and gestational diabetes are forbidden to eat crabs. Patients with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, fatty liver, obesity, allergies and renal insufficiency are also not suitable for eating crabs.
