Can lumbar bone cancer be cured? Bone tumors are divided into benign and malignant. Benign bone tumors are easy to cure and have a good prognosis. Malignant bone tumors develop rapidly, have a poor prognosis, and have a high mortality rate. However, this does not mean that bone tumors are terminal illnesses. In fact, bone tumors can be completely cured, but certain methods are required. In general, the treatment methods for bone tumors are divided into the following two levels:

1. Benign tumors

The main treatment is local scraping, bone grafting or resection. If the tumor can be completely removed, it generally does not recur and the prognosis is good.

2. Malignant tumors

1. Surgical resection is the main means of treatment. Amputation and joint dissection are the most commonly used methods. However, due to the progress of chemotherapy methods, some scholars have begun to perform tumor segment resection or total femoral resection in recent years and replace it with an artificial prosthesis. It is an advisable method to adopt "local extensive resection plus functional reconstruction" to preserve limbs, supplemented by chemotherapy and other measures.

2. Chemotherapy is divided into systemic chemotherapy and local chemotherapy. Commonly used drugs include doxorubicin and high-dose methotrexate, but the drug's selectivity is not strong, and the tumor cells are not synchronized in the division cycle, which affects the effect of chemotherapy.

3. Local chemotherapy includes continuous intra-arterial chemotherapy and regional perfusion, among which regional perfusion has better effect.

4. Immunotherapy: Interferon has limited sources and cannot be widely used.

5. Radiotherapy can only be used as an auxiliary treatment for bone tumors.
