Colon cancer is a digestive tract disease with a relatively high mortality rate, so during the treatment of the disease, patients should also pay attention to their diet. Do not eat overly spicy food in daily life, and have a balanced diet without overeating.

Cancer patients should try to ensure that the total calories they consume from food are not lower than the minimum requirement for normal people, that is, more than 10 kilojoules per day. This is because cancer patients have high protein decomposition and reduced anabolism, and their nutrition is in a negative nitrogen balance state, so their protein needs should be increased. Generally, the daily protein intake should reach more than 1.5 grams per kilogram of body weight, and should be mainly high-quality protein, such as eggs, milk, meat, soy products, etc.

According to the needs of patients, each nutrient should be appropriate and complete. In addition to sufficient high-quality protein intake, low-fat and moderate sugars should be the main food. Pay attention to supplementing vitamins, inorganic salts, cellulose, etc., which can be obtained from fresh vegetables and fruits.

The diet for cancer patients should not be simple and monotonous, but should be diverse, novel, and well-structured. When making a diet, try to combine lightness with high nutrition, soft and easy to digest with rich vitamins, freshness with cold, hot, warm and neutral taste, and total amount with cold, hot, deficiency or excess syndrome of the patient's internal organs. It is best to do it under the guidance of a doctor.
