What are the abnormalities in lymphoma examination

If you accidentally contract a more serious disease, it will cause great harm to your body. We all need to be more careful, especially since the appearance of lymphoma will affect people's bodies. Patients should also actively do the correct examinations. So, what abnormalities should be checked for lymphoma?

1. Blood picture is usually normal in the early stage. Anemia is seen in the late stage or combined with hemolytic anemia. White blood cells are generally normal except for bone marrow involvement, and eosinophilia is common in HD.
2. Biochemical examination: Elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate indicates that the disease is active; serum copper and ferritin increase as the disease progresses, but decrease during remission; zinc is the opposite. Elevated alkaline phosphatase may indicate liver or bone involvement. Patients with liver involvement may also have elevated 5-nucleotidase. Hypercalcemia indicates bone invasion.
3. Immunological Abnormalities
HD patients have reduced responsiveness to tuberculin and other stimuli and reduced in vitro lymphocyte transformation rate, the extent of which is related to the progression of the disease.
4. Bone marrow: Bone marrow is generally normal before it is invaded by lymphoma. Finding Reed-Sternberg cells in bone marrow smears of HD is valuable for diagnosis.
5. CT, MRI and sonographic examinations can reveal intrathoracic, retroperitoneal, and mesenteric lymph node lesions as well as liver and spleen lesions.
