Five serious hazards of colon cancer

In daily life, many people lack knowledge about colon cancer and fail to raise awareness of the disease. As a result, when the disease occurs, they fail to take timely measures, causing greater harm to patients. Experts remind that colon cancer has many hazards and may induce colon malignancy if not treated in time. The following experts specifically introduce the hazards of colon cancer.

1. Heavy blood in the stool: Blood in the stool is one of the main clinical manifestations of this disease, and the amount of blood in the stool is also an indicator of the severity of the disease. Heavy blood in the stool here refers to a large amount of intestinal bleeding in a short period of time, accompanied by increased pulse, decreased blood pressure and decreased hemoglobin, requiring blood transfusion treatment.
2. Intestinal stenosis: It often occurs in cases with extensive lesions and a duration of more than 5-25 years. It is mostly located in the left colon, sigmoid colon or rectum. It is generally asymptomatic clinically. In severe cases, it can cause intestinal obstruction. When intestinal stenosis occurs in this disease, be alert to tumors and distinguish between benign and malignant.
3. Intestinal perforation: It is mostly a complication of toxic intestinal dilatation, but it may also be severe. It often occurs in the left colon. The use of corticosteroids is considered to be a risk factor for intestinal perforation.
4. Toxic intestinal dilatation: This is a serious complication of this disease, which often occurs in patients with pancolitis. The mortality rate can be as high as 44%. The clinical manifestations are rapid deterioration of the disease, obvious symptoms of poisoning, accompanied by diarrhea, abdominal tenderness and rebound pain, weakened or absent bowel sounds, increased white blood cell count, and easy complications of intestinal perforation.
5. Malignant transformation of the colon: Malignant transformation occurs in about 5% of cases, which is more common in patients with lesions involving the entire colon, onset in childhood and a history of more than 10 years.
The above is an introduction to the "hazards of colon cancer". The incidence of colon cancer in today's society is extremely high. We should understand the serious harm of this disease, take it seriously, do scientific prevention in the details of life, and try to avoid contact with related factors that induce colon cancer, so as to prevent greater harm to the body.
